Book 5 of the Lord of the Underworlds

Its been a long time since I listened to the first 4 book, so I had a hard time figuring out who was with who, and where the 4th book left off, but as always Max Bellmore narration is spell-binding, as the Lords fight for humanity along with there demons and the women who comfort them, winding a thrilling story base, you fall in love with each character and their personal fight for what they believe in, its about finding your true soul-mate, doing whats right, for not just themselfs, but for all.. A great series as we have come to expect from Ms. Showalter, passion, love, betrayle, lust, friendship and bonds that are never broken...

Awesome.

Jsut to let everyone know this is NOT the 5th book in this series its the 7th one.... If you go to her website there are a couple books in between this one and the 4th one. There are 12 in all so far and another on coming out in Nov. I love all of these books and have listened to them all and will try to find out how to go about getting the others as well.

Not her best

For anyone who has read the other books, you will not be delighted. I was so anticipating this book but I found there was barely a story... (sigh). Its all sex, sex, sex, and not the fun raunchy romps of the other books. Where before, there was action with all the characters's involvement in the Search for the Artifacts, it did not go forward this time. I did not enjoy this installment, I cannot say I'm glad I read it. Honestly, you can skip this one. Okay, maybe not, since you learn about Scarlett and (finally!) about what happened to Paris's girl (I forgot her name). Max Bellmore's narration is, as always, the best.

Another good one

I have read all of this series and this one is just as good as the rest, there were a couple of places that it was "slow" but overall I really enjoyed the book and will listen to it again. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Gena.

AERON AND OLIVIA ARE WONDERFUL FOR EACH OTHER!!!

Where does The Darkest Passion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a good book, I really like Aeron...he is a good man, and well deserving of Olivia's love!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aeron! He is good..even with wrath as his demon he chooses to be good!

What does Max Bellmore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Max is a good narrator, I am hooked!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Olivia fought her way back to Aeron, even bloody and beaten she kept him first in her heart and fought for him, and even after going back to heaven she fought for him...and now they can be together, she even thought about the naughty Legion!

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed this series very much and am moving forward to book 6....Out of all the lords Aeron is one of my faves...he is a gentle giant...even with the murderous impulse he is kind and considerate and I am happy that him and Olivia can now be together..and he will even get legion back...even if it means losing his wings and tattoos, he was grateful and that was totally in his character...this was a great story!!!

Can't make myself like this book

I've listened to all of the Lords series released so far and I was looking forward to this book. I'm very disappointed. First, I found the book hard to follow. The narrator's voices are hard to distinguish and many times, I found myself wondering which character was talking and if the words were meant to be verbalized or just thoughts in characters head. I don't remember being confused by this in the other books. I also do not like Olivia at all. I don't believe her character. She went from angel to complete slut in the blink of an eye. I wish the author had handled Olivia's sexual awakening a little more innocently, with more exploration and build up to the (pardon my pun) climax. I don't like Aeron and Olivia as a couple, I don't believe in their "love match", which makes the explicit sex scenes kind of gross. I'm not a prude, I like steamy sex scenes, but I always want to believe that the underlying emotion to all the hot throbbing need is true love. I don't believe that where Aeron and Olivia are concerned so it sort of ruined the intimate scenes for me and I found myself fast forwarding to get past them. I'm hoping this book was just a random miss where Showalter is concerned and the next book in the series will be back on the mark. If not I'm afraid this is another series I will have to discontinue.

Lots of humor in this one

There were several times as I was listening to this book that I laughed out loud. Olivia was written really well and her interactions with the other Lords & ladies of the house were great as well. The story was just what I've come to expect from this series and the layers upon layers of plot keep me coming back for more. I'll definitely be reading more of these books.

Loved it.

I love the series. I'm hooked for sure but I LOVE Aeron. There is something about him that is endearing. This is my favorite book of the series because of Aeron and Olivia. It made me wish I could fall in love all over again to feel the way they do for each other. Plus Bellmore is the greatest narrator. I wish I could listen to this story all over again for the first time. Looking forward to The Darkest Lie.

Another great by Gena Showalter

I love the world of the lords of the underworld and the women they love, their strength against all odds, their loyalty and friendship to each other and their compassion for mere mortals. I feel as if with each book I read, the characters become more and more real to me, and with each new book I love discovering what will happen to that character but I also love the peeks/updates into the other lords lives. I can't wait for Ashelyn and Maddox's baby to be born. I

Love it!!!!

This book started out very slow. You couldn't figure out which character is talking, but it progressed throughout the narration. I love this book so much I found myself crying towards the end. I love the characters, especially Aeron.
