Short and Sweet and Oh So Good

The Cowbear's Curvy Valentine is book 5 in a series of short and sweet, bear shifter, steamy romances. I have not listened to the first 4, but that was not an issue as each seems to be a standalone with no need to know all the details of what has gone on in the past to understand it. There are a few paired up couples on the ranch, and their stories can be found in earlier volumes.

Despite the shortness of the book, the author was able to create a dramatic, fun, sexy and sweet story that made me want to keep listening. The characters seemed real and I cared about Abby, Cody and the rest of the fam and felt the connections they made. I know that isn't easy to do, as evidenced by the many "less-than-awesome" shorts I've listened to in the past. Actually, I had been avoiding the "shorties" as a result, but if this is an example of the new standard, I will have to give them another try. Short, long or medium, I will absolutely will be checking out more audiobooks by Liv Brywood. Her writing flows nicely, the dialogue and emotions are believable, and the heat factor is steamy and sexy, but she doesn't use it to the extent that it's the main focus of the story.

Cici Kay gives a good performance. Her male and female voices are good, and she uses the right inflection and emotion for the material she is reading. Her male voice for Cody was pretty sexy in just the right places, and she handles the switches between character voices very well.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars I award in the 5-star rating system is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

Sweet Story With a Bear Shifter & Lawyer

This audiobook has great characters & story line. Although it is not as long as many audiobooks it was just right. The Author was able to create a great romance story.

Abby leaves town after a high profile court case she lost. She ends up at Curvy Bear Ranch. There she meets Cody, a gorgeous cowboy. The attraction between them is strong but Abby doesn't want to get involved with anyone.

The narrator does a great job bringing the story to life.

The author is very talented and I'm looking forward to reading/listening to some of her other books.

Although this is from a series, it can stand alone with no cliffhangers at the end.

Shifter story

This story was good but it kinda drags at some points. I did enjoy the storyline and it was more good than bad.

Great Continuation of the Series

If you have not read the entire series you can still read this book. Be warned it will make you want to go back and read the others.

Abigail is the fifth bride of the Curvy Bear Ranch series. Her story begins with her losing the trial of the century and a murderer is found not guilty. She runs from the press and her loss of her job with nothing but the clothes on her back. She is devastated and feels guilty that she did not get the conviction. Her guilt takes her to the ranch but it is love that makes her stay.
While there she discovers that she is a truly gifted artist and ws only following a path laid out for her by her father. She was not ever meant to be a lawyer. But Cody one of the last two Grant brothers to find their mate is her answer. His bear knows that she is their mate but Cody fights it because he had a disasterous affair before with a guest and has vowed to not do that again. But a fated mate cannot be easily dismissed or run from.
Abigail’s response to finding out that Cody is a bear shifter is funny and results in some soul searching but love rules in the end. A good, funny story.

Resolving the past for a better future

I loved this book it is well written with realistic characters. The storyline was absolutely amazing. This book is hot, not and hotter. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review here of my own volition.

4 Curvytastic Star’s

This was a first book for me and I have to say I am now a fan.
I love a book with a curvy goddess, who is admired for her body and not shunned because of it.
Abigail is the leading prosecutor who lost a case that was not only devastating to her but to a lot of people. She is now thrust-ed in to the lime light and she can’t handle the pressure so she ends up in a B&B far away from the prying reporters.

Cody is one of the brothers who own the B&B. He is content with his life and his living. He isn't looking for more but life has a way of surprising you, also Cody is a were bear.

When these two meet you can see the attraction right always. They quickly become friends and lovers Cody helps Abby through her guilt about case and in the process discovers she likes to paint and encourages her to do what she loves.

Just because she has pressure from family if being a Lawyer isn't what she truly loves then she should do what make her happy.
I love how he was supportive of her, and she him even if she scared the holy heck out of him.
