Publisher's Summary

A tough-as-nails businesswoman. An arrogant Navy SEAL. A power struggle with no end in sight.

Some people hook up at weddings. Others break a hotel room bed (and a table, and a desk, and some complimentary bathrobe belts) and discover they've been surviving on bargain basement orgasms their entire lives.

The last one? Yeah. That's all me.

She's driven and demanding.

I wasn't always a bitch. There's a dirty little trick to succeeding in business: the sweet and innocent rarely survive. I fought my way up from nothing, and I don't bend for anyone.

Until Will Halsted ties me to a headboard and makes me his, for now.

One wild, filthy night turns into another, and then we can't stop. Each time we're together is more addictive than the last, but it's nothing more than a sexy escape from reality.

Or is it?

He's never walked away from a challenge.

I wasn't always a warrior, but now it's in my bones and blood. That's what years spent in the Special Forces does to a man. My entire life is classified - where I've been, what I've seen, what I've done - and there's no mission too dangerous.

Until I realize that falling for Shannon Walsh is like trying to swim against a riptide. She's going to tear me up and toss me to the shore, and I'll love every minute of it.

Every time I'm downrange, I want her counting the hours until I'm back. Waiting for me. She's done it before; she'll do it again.

Or will she?

They're wrong for each other in every possible way.

Or are they?

My favorite in the series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I will recommend it. Very strong hero and heroine. Wil and Shannon do not mince words. Both are A-type personalities but they still mesh together beautifully. Kate Cantebary did a superb job creating a relatable love story for two very strong personalities.

What did you like best about this story?

Shannon is the heart of the Walshes. She held her siblings together. which basically her whole family together. Among all of them, she is the one who deserves to be happy.

What about Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox ’s performance did you like?

Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox made all the characters alive! I just love their performances.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, and it is not one moment but many of them. The Christmas phone call, Wil's return.... I can name more but it might be spoilers. So, I'll just stop at these two.

Any additional comments?

I do hate Tiel and Sam. I cannot believe that they got two books. Those two are the most annoying characters.Their appearances in this book strengthened my opinion of them as very self-centered and really just think of themselves. And Tiel is so rude! Bot of them just want to be the center of attention.

Again, I don't want to add more because it might a spoiler. But those who are rreading the books chronologically will know what I am talking about. They might disagree with me. They might even agree. But one thing I'm sure of, even after finishing the whole series, Tiel and Sam failed to move me. I just cannot find enough reasons to like them. But, you need to read to read about them because the series won't be complete without them.

Best audio book of the series!!

First Ms Lucy Rivers and Mr Christian Fox have the most sexy voices!! Just my opinion! Ok this book had everything you need in a romance novel, the characters are written so well . I absolutely love the banter between all the siblings (with exception to Ms Erin). I will say I adored Will reaction to Shannon. This book was sexy, and emotional but most of all fun!! Great Romance !!

My favorite so far

I love Will! I need these people to be a T.V. series on cable...so the hot scenes can be inlcuded...well mostly included. Some things cable can't even handle.

My favorite in this series so far!

This story is so well written and there is so much great banter and chemistry that one cant help but love it. The dynamic of the family and the strugle between Will and Shannon was perfection. The narration is pure gold. Both Lucy Rivers and Mr. Fox balance eachother out to perfection. Loved it!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this listen

My friend recommended this book and I kept putting it off in exchange for other books. But this was so much better than those. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Shannon and Will. They are a really fun couple. Narrators were awesome. It ended leaving me in search of more books like this one.

5 Can't Get Enough stars

Any additional comments?

"How could you ever be too much for me when I can't get enough of you."

I do believe this is my favorite Walsh series book yet! I was so anxious and excited to read Shannon's story. I'm a huge fan of books with Navy SEALs in them, so that was an added bonus.

Will and Shannon had this amazing chemistry. I love how protective Will was of Shannon, and how he didn't want anyone taking her for granted. He always tried to lighten her load.

The banter between Will and Shannon was epic. Their flirty and rude text messages made this story even more amazing. I found myself laughing at the barbs they were throwing at each other.

This book gave me all the feels. I didn't want it to end, yet I wanted to know how things ended at the same time.

Once again I listened to the audio version of this and Christian Fox/Lucy Rivers knocked it out of the park. This duo is fantastic and I will listen to anything and everything they narrate - especially if it's together!

Kudos Ms Canterbury on yet another amazing novel! Excuse me while I dive into Restored!

A Love Story in Parts

I'm already a Walsh family fan, and I'd been waiting for this story. It spans a few years, and readers had clues in other books but everything is confirmed now. This couple is perfect for one another, and I never would've guessed it! Thier story is unique - the author has created very distinct characters in this series and keeps it fresh. This was a strong addition. I recommend enjoying this as an audiobook. It has two good narrators.

One thought... this series could've easily been written in chronological order, mixing all couples throughout (kind of like the BDB series) and each ending with one sibling's HEA. I'may starting to feel like there's a lot of going backwards.

I review for the Guilty Indulgence Review Site.

Fiery redhead meets Navy SEAL

Shannon & Will’s story is so HOT!!! Shannon is fierce, strong and independent. No one could be better matched for her than Will. He is one dedicated, patient alpha male. This is one of the best “enemies to lovers” book I have read. I love their story, and also all the glimpses we get into the lives of the rest of the Walsh family as well.

The audio is narrated wonderfully. There are a lot of text exchanges between Shannon & Will, which are read in a conversational style that makes easy to follow. Christian and Lucy do another fabulous job.

Hot and Steamy with Sass and Heart!!!

What made the experience of listening to The Cornerstone the most enjoyable?

I actually read the book first and was eagerly waiting for this to come out as an audiobook. I read it when it first came out, so it had been a while and while I remembered the bigger points the rest was more fresh. It's a really funny and sweet book. I found myself laughing out loud a lot.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved both of the main characters. Shannon is a strong and independent person and in charge of the chaos around her. She is the cornerstone of her family, the second oldest of 6, and makes sure that everything is taken care of and running smoothly both professionally and personally in her family. She is he alpha is her world...but so is Will and seeing them interact together is magical. Will is a Navy SEAL and is somehow both strong and tender, and not in a cheesy way either. He's a dirty talker and knows what he wants, and that's Shannon.

Which character – as performed by Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox – was your favorite?

Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers did an amazing job! They made me smile and laugh a lot, and brought these characters to life in the best way possible - they each had the voice of the character. Christian Fox as Will had to be my favorite though - he is one of my favorite performers.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it all in one sitting - - and it was amazing.

Any additional comments?

This is the fourth book in the Walsh Series, but it really can be a standalone. Its timeline interacts with the other books in the series, as the first part of the book is done in the past tense (15 months ago. 11 months ago. Etc.) then it jumps to the present. Will and Shannon meet at their siblings Lauren (Will's sister) and Matt's (Shannon's brother) wedding. Lauren asks Shannon to keep Will busy and not out of her sight. Their banter back and forth is hilarious and it's not long until sparks fly.

Will is a Navy SEAL and is gone doing different things for the military. Shannon is a lawyer, but works for her family's architecture firm where she manages everything from the buying of properties to permits and dry cleaning and doctor appointments. Will and Shannon are able to meet up for a few days at a time in different locations, as both of their schedules will allow, but talk and text frequently. One of the funniest scenes comes when Shannon asks Will what he's doing and he says he's training new SEALs and she refers to them from that point on as baby seals.

This book is very steamy! But the sex scenes are great, and it's balanced out with a great story line, funny banter and a lot of heart. (And Will is always very comically using his military skills on Shannon in unsuspecting ways!) It's got a lot of family in it is as well. If you've read or listened to the other books in the series you get more of the Walshes! If not, you're not going to be lost and it's a great introduction to them. Both characters are realistic and substantial. It's actually my personal favorite of the series, while the other ones are really good there's that 'something' that puts it above the rest for me. I HIGHLY recommend it!
