Publisher's summary

A tyrant by day, a playboy by night. That's the reputation that precedes Richard VanRyan. He lives life the way he wants, no concern for the opinion of others. He cares for no one, is completely unrepentant, and has no desire to change his ways.

Katharine Elliott works under Richard as his PA. She despises him and his questionable ethics, but endures all the garbage he sends her way, because she needs the job. Her end goal is far more important than the daily abuse and demands she tolerates from her nasty tyrant of a boss. Until the day he asks her for something she never expected. A new role with a personal contract-fiancée instead of PA.

What happens when two people who loathe each other have to live together and act as though they are madly in love? Sparks. That's what happens.

Can the power of love really change a person?

Will they survive the contract?

What do you do when the one person you hate the most becomes the one person you can't live without?

The Arrogance

Well...I really enjoyed the plot to the story,I fully expected your typical "assistant/boss"office hook up,but had a different twist than your usual romance. For starters...The assistant was not your"usual"gorgeous, lusty looking assistant, according to her boss(a major a$$ hole,in my opinion)she was a plain, sexless scare crow.He treated her like total $h!t for a good portion of the story and she put up with it because her situation called for her needing her job.In the "hero's"arrogance,he didn't get his promotion so he devised a plan to fix his image with the help of his straight, laced assistant. They worked it out and of course ended up falling in love.A little hard to believe but it happened none the less.If this had some"reality"to it,I'd see a divorce in their future.I think his guilt over how he treated her made him settle and his personality will certainly rear it's ugly head soon,it's not likely to change after all the years of being such a d!ck.

Typical HEA love story

I am always hesitant to write reviews for books that are what I consider "par for the course" romances. I just give my honest opinion of the read and I don't have blogs or web sites or anything of that nature. I am just me and I like to read and listen.

This story was interesting enough to finish. It was not a story I could not put down or kept me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. The publishers summary give a good synopsis of the book. What IS refreshing about the story line however, is the company that Richard goes to is an extremely close knit family oriented business. I think that was unique to the story. I also enjoyed how the people from said company helped the story along. The sub characters were interesting and I hope that she decides to publish their stories as well.

This is a story you can enjoy on a weekend, vacation or just to have something pleasant to listen to. If you have read my reviews before you know that I am a HUGE fan of Tatiana Sokolov. This story is atypical of what she usually narrates. She does a very good performance, but the male performer has more to read and his female voice took some getting used to.

I used a credit to purchase this because I was down on reading/listening material. I would recommend for a sale.

Awesome

I really enjoyed this book. The story was good and it wasn't drawn out. 1st book for me of the author and I'm already looking for another.

Real!!!

It's rare when I feel so emotional with a book these days, normally many romance novels are repetitive always about tragedy, but this book was real. And the author was able to express how one person can change and make a difference with unconditional love.

Disappointing choice of female narrator

The male narrator does a good job, but the female narrator seems like a poor casting choice for this particular story. She did a decent job, just not the right fit for the role.

Perfect story by great author

I absolutely loved every minute of it. The narrators did an amazing job and the author wrote a perfect story, the kind I love to read and I enjoyed everything about it. The characters and their stories a perfect compliment to the settings and plot line. Would certainly be reading or listening for any story written by Melanie Moreland.

A joy to listen to...

What a delicious story, well written and better yet read by these two great narrators!!!
So worth the time and credit. She seems so weak and lost at the beginning but she surprises us and teaches him how to be a better version of himself... super cool and sweet.
