Publisher's summary

The Christmas Mail Order Bride is the first in the Holiday Mail Order Bride Series! Enjoy these sweet romances as you read about characters falling in love during some of your favorite holidays!

Sheriff Clayton Riley asked for a pair of boots for Christmas, not a mail order bride! Unfortunately for Clayton, his brother and mother figured a bride would look better on him than a new pair of boots! After all, he'd been sulking around long enough after the death of his wife, and his family decided it was time to take matters into their own hands and see to it Clayton had a very merry Christmas!

Summer James was young, she was beautiful and an impoverished orphan. Who would want such a woman? Obviously no one. For here she was, 18 and now of age to set out on her own. But New Orleans was full of men with evil intent for one such as herself, and she saw no other choice but to take the only offer for survival she could find and become a mail order bride. What she didn't count on was becoming Sheriff Clayton Riley's Christmas present!

sappy sweet

Not the best book I've read but wasn't the worst. Think Hallmark Christmas movie. It's clean, predictable easy listen. It had a lot of repetitive worry from Summer the main character but I expected that. My mother would live this book. the narrator was fine. in the beginning it was hard to her when he did Summer's voice but that could have been the audio.
I actually might get the next book when I'm on a break from my action thriller books

Good Storyline

I liked the storyline of this book, but found it really hard to believe that a shot in the foot can make you so helpless for so long. I also really feel they made Summer out to be such a wimpy girl. I do understand her feelings of fear and rejection, but really? You would think that someone who grew up with her background would have had a little backbone.

A Special Christmas Suprise

Oh how I loved this story. Of course it is Kit Morgan, what else could I have expected! Her stories just warm my heart all around. Summer James grew up in the orphanage and now that she was of age, she had to either get a job or get married. Unfortunately a man was trying to get her to be in service. Yep not good. So she took the last mail order bride ad and she was on her way out west.
Sheriff Clayton Riley had lost his wife a few years back and would not move forward. So is mother and brother placed he ad for the bride. To say Clayton was surprised when she walked in the door doesn't even describe what happened!
Full of humor, but also heartache for Summer who had never had a real family, I loved every word of this story. With Michael Rahhal narrating , it was perfect!!
