Publisher's summary

An arranged marriage leads to passionate love in this classic Scottish historical romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice is Jamie, youngest daughter of Baron Jamison - a feisty, violet-eyed beauty. Alec aches to touch her, to tame her, to possess her...forever. But Jamie has vowed never to surrender to a man she considers a highland barbarian.

Alec is everything Jamie’s heart has warned her against - an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks speak of savage pleasures. While Kincaid’s scorching kisses set fire to her blood, she is determined to resist him...until one rapturous moment quells their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatens to conquer her senses...

Loved it!

This was a good read. It definitely kept my interest and was a lovely story.

While it shared many characteristics of a normal love story...it was so much more. I enjoyed the relationship and connection between the two main characters. I enjoyed his strength and manliness, as well as her tenderness.

This is a good read, I would definitely recommend it to romance fans.

LOVED IT!!

I do love a highland book, this brings us the mix of Highlanders and the English. Takes place in 1102/1103. Good story, sweet, scary, hot and the list goes on!! I LOVE this couple, perfect! Jamie (the heroine) is spunky and fun, quirky and very entertaining! Alec...well what can I say...YUMMY!! Hard, Strong, and of course STUBBORN!! Perfect dominant Highlander. I wish I could look under his plaids :)

I will say this is an excellent story will be a repeat listen for me! Narrator always does well and continued to do well this time.

I found that the vocabulary used in this book isn't nearly as authentic as some I've heard and honestly, that is a good thing, it can be difficult in some books to keep up and really get involved with the story when you have to focus so much on the language, that said, it sounds good and is very entertaining too, so really I'm good either way, but the point is that the language in this book is slightly closer to today's language than actual 1100's highlanders.
