*sighs*

I adore the Bound by Flames series by Jeaniene Frost, thus I looked forward to trying this series. I HATE stupid whiny heroines. HATE. The fact that this Heroine actually says she is not one of those stupid heroines that gets herself in trouble... she is. AND she whines NONstop. If she isn't constantly freaking out and whining she is being stupid. The concept is AWESOME. I love the concept I love where its going but I am constantly wanting to reach through my headset and strangle Ivy. At the point of writing this I have an hour and half left of the book, which I will absolutely finish because I want to see where the story is going as I said the story line is excellent. I just wish I didn't have to listen to Ivy being an idiot for that whole time. The other characters are strong, well written and easy to deal with, the one you are suppose to feel compassion for and cheer for... her I want a demon to kill even if it will ruin the story.

Great w/2 caveats

Love the idea and the narrator, Tavia Gilbert as usual does a great job. Just two briefs notes. 1) there is only a hot scene which gets stopped so if that's a deterrent... 2) this is a cliff hanger. I thought this book was more of a series of books which are standalones but even though there are several conclusions there is a "to be continued" ending. Other than that another outstanding book by Jeaniene Frost.

this book scared the crap out of me

I have to admit, the demons and bad things in this book scared the Dickenson out of me, but the story line is so addictive I had to get book 2!! wish my dreams luck.

Different and beautiful!!

I LOVE Jeaniene Frost for her other series and this one doesn't disappoint. I feel that it is a bit slower than her other series but her ability to create characters and wondrous realms is amazing!! I love that she encompasses very spiritually elements in this story. I highly recommend it if you like supernatural romances. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Pretty good listen

Tavia Gilbert is one of the best narrators in the business.
The female lead feels a bit juvenile at times (more what I would expect from YA) but this is still well written with a world you can envision clearly.

an unexpected yet pleasant surprise

Would you listen to The Beautiful Ashes again? Why?

Yes and No. Yes because It was good and I am sure there are things I might have missed. but but because I don't typically reread books, which is a personal hang up of mine and has nothing to do with the series.

What other book might you compare The Beautiful Ashes to and why?

none that I can think of that I have read. but that doesn't mean that there are books out their that have similar attributes.

yes and had I had the time I probably would have.

the author did a good job of keeping you riding the tension between the two main characters. and baiting you with it.

Jeaniene Frost is an amazing author and the narrator makes the story that much better. Job well done as usual!

Fast paced from the first page to the last!

Fast paced from the first page to the last! You dive right in and the world is built as the adventure unfolds. There is chemistry, demons, angels and more. There is a lot more story to be told!
