Publisher's Summary

The second book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling Texas romance author Jean Brashear's TEXAS HEROES: The Gallaghers of Morning Star series—stories rich with emotion, ripe with secrets, scandals and sexual tension.

Mitch Gallagher is a loner, down to the bone. Banished at sixteen from everything and everyone he held dear, he's an intensely private man whose rusty, unused heart long ago gave up on love. Fragile Perrie Matheson is on the run to protect her beloved son. Too ill to travel further with a winter storm on the way, she has no choice but to gamble her child's safety on a man who wants only to be left alone.

But during days spent together in the mountain cabin, Mitch and Perrie each find surprises in store...and all the reasons they should stay apart battle with the yearnings of hearts too long denied love.

Two untrusting hearts collide

What made the experience of listening to Texas Lonely the most enjoyable?

I enjoy the imagery of the whole story, you want to jump in and shake sense into them as well as help them through their journey.

What did you like best about this story?

The sneaking emotions that they try to conceal and find each other through turmoil.

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first Eric G. Dove's performances, but I did enjoy it so much that I bought the book and will get the other series books narrated by him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Davey the courageous little boy stumbling through every new and terrifying experiences to bring a family together

Any additional comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed this narration and have once again found another author to enjoy!!

Emotional!

Mitch and Perrie’s story is so emotional. Mitch has been living alone after being kicked out of his home at age 16 and Perrie is on the run with her young son. They meet on a remote mountain side while Perrie is looking for her grandfather’s cabin, which happens to be where Mitch lives. Trust isn’t something that comes easy to either of them, so Perrie being ill and then storm stayed together makes things difficult. Their story is full of insecurities as they both deal with their past and refuse to share their feelings & fears with each other. Davey, Perrie’s son, is absolutely adorable and you can’t help but fall in love with him right from the beginning, even the gruff mountain man can’t resist him. I really enjoyed this story, though at times I did want to shake both Mitch and Perrie and tell them to just give into their feelings. Lol. Jean Brashear has a talent for bringing out many emotions in her books….the sign of a great author for sure. Eric Dove is definitely one of my favorite narrators. He always brings the story to life with his amazing variety of voices.

As good as the first book

This story was just as good as the first book in this series. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Mitch. Now to see where the unknown sister is. I also have to say that I love this narrator.
