He'd given her a battery
This is one on my faves (more than one reading) because each character is full, complete and builds through the story. I loved the setting, the completeness of the side characters while focusing on the plot line and the bad guys. Loved it.

Why people trash talk romance novels
This is a great example of why people look down on romance novels. Nothing in the "suspense" part of the plot makes any sense. Character actions and motivations don't match. I don't understand WHY anyone did anything.
Look, writing is hard and the author sat down and put a lot of words on paper and got paid for it. Good job. But that's the best thing I can say about it.
