Publisher's summary

An elf prince on the verge of losing himself to the darkness, Vail is maddened by the 42 centuries he was under the control of a witch and forced to war with his brother. Now he roams hell seeking an escape from his terrible past and the heads of all who bear magic. When demons of the Fifth Realm capture him, he sees a chance to end his existence, but when he wakes in a cell to a beautiful female, he finds not death but his only shot at salvation - his true fated mate.

Captured by the enemy of the Third Realm when the war ended, Rosalind has spent months in the cells of the Fifth Realm with her magic bound, forced to heal the new king's demon warriors, and haunted by the lives she has taken. When she's brought to heal an unconscious man, she discovers her only hope of escape has come in the form of her worst nightmare and the first part of a prediction that might spell her doom - a devastatingly handsome and dangerous dark elf prince.

Unwilling to fall under the control of anyone ever again, Vail must escape before the Fifth King can use him as a pawn in a deadly game of revenge, but he cannot leave without Rosalind, the woman who looks at him with dark desire in her stunning eyes and awakens a fierce hunger in his heart. A witch who drives him mad with need even as the darkness within whispers she will enslave him, too. Can Rosalind escape her fate as they embark on a journey fraught with danger and resist the temptation of her rogue elf prince? And can Vail overcome the memories that madden him in order to seize his chance for salvation and the heart of his fated female forever?

Wonderful Romance but Some Character Issues

It's not an easy road for Rosalind or Vail, him being the tortured mad prince. I feel for Rosalind in particular as she's been kidnapped and was simply helping Vale's brother at the time. Vail has his own issues with witches in particular... while Rosalind is a light witch it's hard for him to recognize that fact. I think the writing is great and the narrator is exceptional. I'm excited to see what comes next in this series. It's a journey for the characters, but I was very happy in the end.

unnecessarily long

good book. but it dragged. the ending was good but no closure. same as the last book. I'm hoping that by the end of the series there'll be more character closures. Did she ever use her powers?

DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ONE

Chapters 1, 2 & 3 were what I expected...action, suspense, thrills. Chapters 4 thru 10, for me, were irritating they were inner dialogue and turmoil about Vail's captivity with the Witch. Story picks up at Chapter 11 but it's pace is slow building on Vail's and Rosalind's relationship. Vail's angst and turmoil went on way too long for me.

Aaron Abano gave a great performance.

Tempted By a Rogue Prince, By Felicity Heaton

This story broke my heart. Dam good writing. Two people who needed each more, to fix what was broken, and really live again.

Better listen than 1st two books

The narrator’s voice was easy to listen to; I just didn’t enjoy how he read Vale’s part.

Great book!

I saw the negative comments on this book before buying it and must say I did enjoy it a lot. It's a different narrator than the first two books but he is very good on his job. Of course not to expect soft feminine sweet voices like a female narrator would but I liked his version.

The interaction between the leads here starts in the worst possible of circumstances and thats why I liked the book.

Vail the mad elf prince...and the tender witch Rosalind needed to go through a real hell on the book but if you enjoy seeing how Heaton builds her mates it will worth it. It's violent, and tragic yes but the arc for these two had to be, I think that in the previous two books they were a little more softer when taking on "Violence" and for the tortured fae we needed to know more why he was such a mess, that meaning listening to some disturbing scenes in his past.

I recommend this audiobook, but just beware of a little violent scenes if you are a little sensitive. That's all.

Fantastic!!!

By far my favorite. I wanted to learn Vail's story since the first book. As someone who loves the bad boys, Vail speaks to my soul. I cannot say enough words about how much I looked forward to this story and it did not let me down. Just over 24 hours to finish this wonderful book and that was working 9 hours a day and sleeping a somewhat normal schedule. Woke up at 530 and just had to keep listening this morning. So much conflict with the light and dark and gives you such insight to this devestating prince. Hmmmm any other book will have a hard time competing in my mind.
