Publisher's Summary

Socialite Eden Carlbough didn't expect running a girls' camp to be easy, but she never thought she'd literally be run up an apple tree by the little monsters...nor did she think she'd come crashing down into the capable arms of orchard owner Chase Elliot. Chase knew he'd caught a windfall when he looked at the woman in his arms. He didn't like being cast as the serpent, but how could he resist when she'd just offered him such forbidden fruit?

No means yes?

Astonishingly, this was my first Nora Roberts book and I must say she does have very nice prose and a fine sense of setting. But hopefully, her other books have better characters because the love interest in this novel was disturbing to me. The male 'hero' holds his woman down - literally and becomes enraged when she stops kissing and asks for time to think. Our heroine says she's in love but you really have to wonder why. Knowing what I know - I don't think I could dance at their wedding. I hear it's an early work though so perhaps it's just dated - if that's the case, thank God for progress!

formula romance

You can definitely tell that this book is one of her earlier books. It is a true romance and if you are looking for the typical guy meets girl, loses girl, wins girl back and marries girl then this is the book for you!

another favorite of Nora Roberts

I am glad that I purchased this one. There were times in the storyline that were boring but all in all the total story was a good one and believable.

Good story, reader not the best.

This was another one of Nora Roberts excellent stories. I really enjoyed it. The only downfall was the woman who read it did not use different voices for the different characters to speak of. It made it somewhat confusing when there was narrative to follow who was saying what. Even with that, I still highly recommend reading and or listening to this book.

Typical Nora Roberts

I wish the story had gone into The couples life after first blush. The seeking part was a bit long and there was nothing after Chase got the girl.

Disappointed in Nora

I usually enjoy Nora Roberts books. She usually has a good plot twist and make believable characters. However, this book gave me neither. The male character seemed a little on the creepy side for me, stocking his prey. Well the female jump right into her new life without hesitation. I found this particular book disappointing.

Needs a different narrator

What three words best describe Alyson Silverman’s voice?

TOO YOUNG SOUND

Any additional comments?

This book made me look more at narrators. They can ruin a book. This one can not do male voices-Nora Roberts men are bolder than she could make them sound. I will rethink buying any with her narrating.

Nice simple story, reader could up her game

What would you do as an heiress whose father blew through the family money and you were destitute? Start a summer camp! This contemporary romance with a rather predictable ending had enough going on within the story to keep me entertained for 4 hours.
My strongest criticism is with the narrator. She is a young woman and her voices for women were all exactly the same. Since most of the dialog was between 2 women, it did become confusing as to which woman was speaking. Narration is much more difficult than simply reading a book. It's acting and a good narrator is a joy to listen to. This narrator needs more experience in order to become a narrator to follow.
