Publisher's Summary

The Irish rock band Rogue is made up of four best friends. Nothing can come between them . . . or can it?

Gavin McManus always knew he was born to be a famous singer/songwriter. This confidence, along with his sexy, but wounded, rock-star mystique propels his band Rogue into the spotlight.

Sophie Kavanaugh was drawn to Gavin long before he found fame. Her own desire to be what he needed, to somehow be the one to fix him, binds them together in a desperate kind of love.

Conor Quinn, the band's gorgeous guitarist and Gavin's best friend, has always dismissed his attraction to Sophie as harmless, but could it be something more?

For years, the three friends revel in all the glam and grunge of the rock star life - until the reason behind Gavin's wounded persona is revealed. The ensuing media backlash sends him into a downward spiral that threatens to destroy everything, including his connection with Sophie.

Gavin is forced to finally confront the past - if only so he can hang on to the present.

But with Conor picking up the pieces Gavin left behind, will it be too late?

Author's Note: Fear not, dear listeners, production on the follow-up to this book (Playing At Love) will be completed soon!

Impatiently waiting for the conclusion 👏

I couldn't wait to devour this book and dreaded to pause when my life interfered. I found myself hanging on every savory morsel of a word. The passion, drama, angst, and a wonderfully well developed cast of characters was a gem of a find. The factual rock tidbits also added an interesting touch. I've listened to a decent amount of Rockmance and this one is not the typical repetitive norm for the genre. Cosio's talented writing skills have set the bar high for my future R&R book's.

And Lee Brophy's did a phenomenally outstanding job of acting out the characters with depth and emotion. The intimate scenes will leave you swooning thanks to his sexy seductive voice 😉.
All & all I would say this is a 5 star listen. My only complaint... the author did leave me hanging at the end and I'm quite disappointed that book 2 Playing At Love is not available yet. I hate the wait to see what's in store for Sofie, Gavin and Rogue. I was given a free copy of this audio book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

So many feels and great narration! 5 Stars.

Wow. This book was such an emotionally charged ride. We get to experience Sophie and Gavin’s relationship journey from teen love affair to full fledge adult relationship and all the highs and lows in between. It was an emotional, difficult, sometimes painful, but ultimately beautiful love. That was my favorite thing about Tangled Up In You: the raw and realness of the story. Yes, it’s a love story, but the pain feels true, the emotions are so real, and the love can be felt a mile away. Sophie and Gavin broke my heart, but Lara Ward Cosio did beautiful work of piecing it back together little by little. The writing is exquisitely honest, the characters well developed, and the story grabs you and doesn’t let go. This story doesn’t have a HEA yet, but I’m beyond anxious to get to the next book and see what’s in store for Gavin and Sophie.

Narration by Lee Brophy was amazing! This was my introduction to his work and I was beyond I’m pressed. His Irish accent was delicious and effortless. His performance as Gavin was everything. He brought the rockstar to life and had me swooning, cheering, crying, and falling for him over and over again. Mr. Brophy managed to give so many characters distinction and made nearly ten hours of audio breeze on by. I’m really, really hoping that he returns to narrate the following book because he did such a phenomenal job. He is Gavin! Plus, I just need more of that incredibly seductive voice in my life. 5 Stars.

An amazing audio

So I've read the book and then I got the chance to listen to the audio. All I can say...the accent...the accent added to the story so much.
This rocker love story, its the raw story of a relationship, the good, the bad and the ugly. Be ready for all the emotions!

Engaging and Heartbreaking Journey - Great Audiobo

What a journey with Sophie and Gavin, and we experience every bump along the road. From young love to more mature experience, there is a lot of leaning for them both to do, but I can't wait to see what the other Rogue books will hold. Their love is tender and supportive, but it can also be enabling. it's 100% and emotionally engaging romance. We get some closure, but I also know that I'll be picking up Connor's book next. I expect his book to focus on him and his lady love, but I'm also ravenous for tidbits of other characters as well. this book has been very well written and we'll narrated, and I highly recommend picking this one up. This is the voluntary review of a copy gifted by the author.

Irish Rockers...Love, Friendship and Disillusionment

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A story with many deep and unsettled emotions. Pain from the last that results in actions repeated today.
Confusion..lack of self worth all leading to separation.
Not all angst, it be prepared...leaves you with a cliffhanger knowing there is pain and uncertainty....can’t wait for the next book!
The narrator was absolutely perfect!

Tangled Ending...

I do not listen to many Rockstar books, but this one pulled me in. I loved the narration on this book. Lee Brophy is very talented with his ability to perform many characters and accents. Parts of this story I really enjoyed, while I wasn't thrilled with the cliffhanger ending. I thought the author Lara Ward Cosio did a good job addressing drug (cocaine) use and did not glamorize it, but showed real feelings of those who care for someone addicted. I thought the story took some unexpected twists which were very enjoyable. The book includes some humor, friendship, love, despair, elation and some other emotions. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would definitely listen to the next book in the series as I want to know what happens with Gavin, Sophie, Connor and the rest of Rogue.

👊 POW! This one came out of no where!

I was given this book with request for an honest review.

And honestly, I loved it. The characters are so real and the problems so believable. Sophie spends one school year in Ireland and falls in love with Gavin. He is just as deep as she, asking her to marry him at age 16 instead of returning to the USA. Of course she can't and 3 years pass that sends his band, Rogues, into rock fame. They reunite at a concert In LA and he's an ass, but it's months later that Gavin faces the truth of his heart. Sophie knows what her heart will never stop longing for so when he pops the question again, she accepts. Their life begins that slow jerky ride up the first hill of what will become a long roller coaster ride. There's not a lot of explicit sex, no HEA, but a cliffhanger that will leave you hungover, not know who what when or how.

Lee Brophy is freaking perfect for this narration! The Irish brogue is just rough enough and his emotions come across honest.

👍🏻👍🏻 Two THUMBS UP!

Hanging on everyword

This story was wonderfully written. I love how much detail and thought went into each character and I couldn't wait to read more. Lora Ward Casio did a fantastic job at creating a world you could believe and imagine vividly. The narrator brought this baby to life though! Lee Brophy has the perfect accent for this. I don't know if it was real or just for the story but it was perfect!

There were a few times that the story skipped periods of time and if you were driving or doing something else while listening it was VERY easy to miss this and go What the heck is going on. I did that about 3 times. Thats the ONLY thing I would change is a little more warning to time jumps. A few had the whole, "this would happen over the next blah blah blah years" then change perspective or something. It did throw me a little. But not enough to take any marks off this story. I loved Sophie, I loved Gavin, I LOVED Conor. You get to watch these 3 as they become best friends in high school. Watch as they friendship and the musical skills grow. How they are parted and reunited and the DRAMA that goes with all this. Its crazy but Lora does such a fantastic job of bringing it all together. And the realness of what tears Sophie and Gavin to pieces is such well thought out and raw. It happens to so many people now and I saw first hand with my uncle how something like this changes people and the relationships no matter how dear they are. The way she brought this to life and the realness of how it goes on and how much of a struggle it is fantastic. This is probably the part I was most surprised by as it wasn't a bam its over kind of thing you FEEL the struggle. And OH MY GOSH at that cliffhanger! I can't wait to see whats going to happen. When it ended like that I re-winded probably 3 times to make sure that WAS the end. I can't wait to see what Lora has up her sleeves and I hope she has Lee Brophy doing the narration on the next book! Thanks for the amazing story!

Five Star But For Cliffhanger

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. I could not believe that I listened to almost nine hours of a good story and it ended on a cliffhanger. The narration was good as well as the storyline but the ending soooo disappointing. This is a story that begins in high school, moved into adulthood, marriage, betrayal, leaving, new discovery and bless my heart a cliffhanger.
