Publisher's summary

One year ago, Lady Camille Pryce left her haughty fiancé at the altar - for good reason. Not only was the marriage arranged before she could even walk, her betrothed was too smug to exert himself to meet her! Now, disowned, with no husband or family to support her, she's left with one option: go to work in the notorious Tantalus Club.

A gentleman's gaming house run by a woman, the Tantalus is no place for a proper lady; so, to save face, her jilted fiancé must retrieve her. But banned from the club, he's forced to employ his ne'er-do-well cousin instead. A handsome, experienced rogue, Keating Blackwood is the perfect man to lure Camille away. But the moment they meet, Keating instead wants to save her... for himself. Impossible? Perhaps. But if Camille can make the ultimate player lay his cards on the table - and risk his heart - all bets are off.

Great love story..

Any additional comments?

I think I like A Beginner's Guide to Rakes better than this one but not by much. I really liked Keating and Camille. Love Greaves and can't wait to read his and Sophie's story. And I really couldn't stand Fenton, such a jerk. This book kept me entertained all the way through. Great sex, too.

As to the narrator? She was just ok IMO. Not great and not the worst I've ever heard. Most of her women sound alike, which is ok. And most of her men sound alike but at least they sound like men. She just has no emotion.

I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator!

Keating Blackwood and Lady Camille Pryce Are Dynam

Loved the story. It is a romance but with lots of twists and good characters. Keating Blackwood is a rogue with a reputation. He is hired by his cousin, Marquis Fenton, to go to London and find the woman who left the Marquis at the alter. He has suffered a year of people laughing at him and he knows the only one who can bring his wayward bride back to him is his cousin. But, his bride, Lady Camille Pryce, is not just a pretty face. She was disowned by her family, all her friends and left to find her own way. She managed to get work in a gentleman's club and then she meets Keating. The romance is kindled and the two can't leave each other alone. He needs the funds promised by his cousin when he presents Lady Camille back to the alter but he didn't know he would fall in love with her. It is predictable in many ways but worth the read. the narrator is very good.

My Favorite Suzanne Enoch novel!

What did you love best about Taming an Impossible Rogue?

The characters were likable and realistic. FINALLY, an author who knows how to create characters with flaws but who are also successfully redeemed. The conflict was not forced or artificial in this novel. WELL DONE!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Taming an Impossible Rogue?

The heroine's meeting with her family showed the male lead's support but not RESCUE. Excellently handled.

What does Anne Flosnik bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices make the novel come to life - like hearing a movie!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Any additional comments?

Well-balanced plot, excellently developed characters, realistic conflict, sizzling chemistry!

Ehhh

What did you like best about Taming an Impossible Rogue? What did you like least?

The story was just OK. Not the worst I'd ever "read" but the narrator was just awful! Maybe its just me not liking the "breathy" quality of her voice, but I probably would not listen to any other books with this narrator.

If you’ve listened to books by Suzanne Enoch before, how does this one compare?

n/a

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Flosnik?

I'm a huge Davina Porter fan! ANYTHING she narrates I'll listen to!!!

Couldn't wait for it to end!

I really wanted to like this book, but there was just bad news at every turn. There was no light in this book until the very end. I simply could not wait for this book to end.

I enjoyed the characters and I especially liked Keating. He is just a brute he doesn't take any crap from anyone. Camile was a little too whimpy. I wish that she would have grown a stronger backbone throughout the course of the story although I guess she did speak her mind near the end. I just thought it was a little weak.

Not my favorite book in the series.

What a delight 🌟

Absolutely fabulous romantic fairytale, no angst or silly misunderstandings, this story is pure romantic escapism.
I especially loved the ending.... sigh

Horrible Narration!

What would have made Taming an Impossible Rogue better?

I love Suzanne Enoch books, but it couldn't even make it through chapter 3 because the narration was so bad! I will have to read this series in print.

What didn’t you like about Anne Flosnik’s performance?

She sounded like she had clothespin on her nose. All the characters sounded alike.

Any additional comments?

I wish I could get my credit back for this one. I hope it's one I got with a bogo offer.
