Publisher's summary

Beloved author Molly Harper launches a brand-new contemporary romance series, Southern Eclectic, with this story of a big-city party planner who finds true love in a small Georgia town.

Nestled on the shore of Lake Sackett, Georgia, is the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop. (What, you have a problem with one-stop shopping?) Two McCready brothers started two separate businesses in the same building back in 1928, and now it's become one big family affair. And, true to form in small Southern towns, family business becomes everybody's business.

Margot Cary has spent her life immersed in everything Lake Sackett is not. As an elite event planner, Margot's rubbed elbows with the cream of Chicago society and made elegance and glamour her business. She's riding high until one event goes tragically, spectacularly wrong. Now she's blackballed by the gala set and in dire need of a fresh start - and apparently the McCreadys are in need of an event planner with a tarnished reputation.

As Margot finds her footing in a town where everybody knows not only your name but what you had for dinner last Saturday night and what you'll wear to church on Sunday morning, she grudgingly has to admit that there are some things Lake Sackett does better than Chicago - including the dating prospects.

Elementary school principal Kyle Archer is a fellow fish out of water who volunteers to show Margot the picture-postcard side of Southern living. The two of them hit it off, but not everybody is happy to see an outsider snapping up one of the town's most eligible gentleman. Will Margot reel in her handsome fish, or will she have to release her latest catch?

Refreshingly Funny

Molly Harper is just amazingly talented, funny without being silly, with the innate ability to create a wide variety of fascinating and engrossing characters. Not only are her novels entertaining the first time, these fictional masterpieces get better with every listen/read.

You had me at sweet tea

Any book that involves Sasquatch, sweet tea, bait shops, funeral homes and a healthy dose of sarcasm is bound to be a hit. Loved it, Molly Harper did an amazing job of painting the image of the town, the people, and the animals. I could picture every scene as if I had been there and seen it all with my own eyes.

Love. Love. Love.

There is no greater joy than me listening to a Molly Harper tale told by Amanda Ronconi. Her new series doesn’t disappoint. It has zany backwood’s folks. It has sweet, endearing personalities all with their own flavor of sarcasm. It gives you the warm fuzzies rooting for the HEA to arrive.

Delightful! Absolutely Delightful!

All the characters came to life in this tale of Southern family life. Lots of laughs especially the flamingo incident and the first introduction of Aunt Tutie. Loved the whole down South fried fun and the tourism angle for the sweet town. Let's face it Bait shop and Funeral Home family business screams delightful!

A very sweet romance.

This is my first experience with Molly Harper stories and her audios and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable one. I like how she created and built up her characters. The setting and the family was very well established and I was able to grasp and enjoy all of the connections easily. The narration was really stellar and very much a reason why I enjoyed this audio so much. It took me by surprise how dealing with loss was handled by a family whose main source of income is being the towns funeral home. They have such a level of respect and lightheartedness towards their community that I appreciated very much. I loved Kyle and his girls!! Aunt Tutti was the true star of the show!! Really a great introduction to a new to me author.

Interesting southern story

Fun story to listen too. Crazy family, nosy neighbors, there were even dogs. Enjoyed it -

Ok story. I’m not much of a love story reader so don’t avoid this because of me.
Cute. Happy ending.

Sweet Tea and Symphathy

Predictable story. The good news is that many of the supporting characters are a colorfully written piece of southern charm and I enjoyed their unfolding throughout. The main character was flat, in my opinion, and seemingly, a bit whiny. The audible production of children is aweful...shrieking and unreal. Yuck...
