Publisher's summary

Double fudge...toasted coconut...key lime...strawberry cream... Every bite is a mouthful of heaven. And the women of the Cupcake Club are bringing their appetites....

Riley Brown never imagined she would find her bliss on Georgia's quiet Sugarberry Island after years of Chicago's city life. With a new career and fantastic new friends, she's got it all - except for eligible men. But a gig staging a renovated beach house delivers a delicious treat - six feet of blue-eyed, gorgeous writer as delectable and Southern as pecan pie. Quinn Brannigan has come to Sugarberry to finish his latest novel in peace, and suddenly Riley has a taste for the bad boy author that no amount of mocha latte buttercream or lemon mousse will satisfy....

Light and Easy Listen

This was a fun, easy listen. Enjoyed the characters and continuation of their stories through the series, but was a little one-note in terms of the story. Any conflict between characters happened in the past and they were working on being together now, so it was just mental hang-ups keeping the main characters apart. No real tension so the story's climax felt like it fell a little flat.
Listened as part of Audible's new Member Benefit Free Listens and enjoyed it, but likely wouldn't have spent money or a credit on it to buy it.

One of the most honest grin-inducing stories of scarily falling in love

I’m sure I can’t tell whether it was story or the narration that kept me up all night listening. And then listening all over again the next day. Donna Kauffman doesn’t just tell you that it’s nerve-wracking and scary and fun to fall in love. She shows you. And Amanda Ronconi somehow voiced a Quinn I fell in love with and wanted to listen to for hours. Thank you both for this gem!

Such a sweet series :)

This continues to be a fun sweet series. It's easy and delightful with some romance/sexiness as well. It's not over the top just a tad. I've already started Book 3 and am a new fan of Donna Kauffman. I have loved Amanda Ronconi's narration in other books and she continues to do a fantastic job.

It was sweet

Would you consider the audio edition of Sweet Stuff to be better than the print version?

Amanda Ronconi makes all stories better!

Would you recommend Sweet Stuff to your friends? Why or why not?

I liked Riley’s story. I enjoyed that her character isn’t the perfect everything that she could be anyone you know. It’s a very sweet story with lots of mishaps to keep it fun and an adorable mastiff

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Each character has their own voice and she doesn’t seem to have the issues with switching between them. She makes you feel what each character is feeling as if you were them.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Love the storyline

My advice Listen to this book right after you listen to the first book I had waited months in between the storyline and kind of forgot where it left off but download in the next one baby cakes right now

Cute romance but long buildup

Sweet story of a clutzy food and house stager and a very sentimental and nice guy best selling author. A large dog often steals the scenes. Too much background and verbal foreplay and a rushed ending but since part of a series there will probably be more of the couple. The narration was good for the female roles but terrible for the males and really needed a second narrator. Not worth a credit but ok on Audible plus.

Funny and romantic

I almost didn't read this one because I found Book 1, Sugar Rush, to languish. Unlike the first one, this story moves along without the lengthy and repetitive dialogue. Book 2 has more humor and more believable main characters. It was definitely a fun read.

Way too slow

I like the author and some of her other books but this series is just ridiculously slow. This is only mildly better than the first book. A 40min conversation amongst friends is just way too much and doesn't even really add to the story. Combine that with all the agonising and mental back and forth and you get a whole lot of nothing. Even the narrator sounded bored.
