Publisher's summary

I pay strangers to sleep with me. I have my reasons....But they're not the ones you'd expect. For starters, I'm a funeral director taking over my dad's business. Not exactly the kind of person you'd expect to fork over cash for the lust and urgency only live skin-to-skin contact can create. Looking at me, you wouldn't have a clue I carry this little secret so close it creases up like the folds of a fan. Tight. Personal. Ready to unravel in the heat of the moment. Unsurprisingly, my line of work brings me face-to-face with loss.

So I decided long ago that paying for sex would be one of the best (and arousing) ways to save myself from the one thing that would eventually cut far too deep. But Sam was a mistake. Literally. I signed on to "pick up" a stranger at a bar, but took Sam home instead. And now that I've felt his heat, his sweat and everything else, can I really go back to impersonal? Let's just hope he never finds out about my other life.

Critic reviews

"...the story of a real and complex woman caught in a difficult situation with no easy answers. Well-developed secondary characters and a compelling plot add depth to this absorbing and enticing work." ( Library Journal on Broken)
"Ms. Hart is a master of all genres. Her stories grip you from the onset." ( Romance Junkies)

X-Rated Filth

What would have made Stranger better?

A story perhaps??

Has Stranger turned you off from other books in this genre?

Absolutely. First chapters were nothing but ridiculously detailed descriptions of sex with a stranger.

Good book needs better reader....

I will say that the writing is not the issue with this one... the narrator is... her girlish "quippy" tone just makes the writing hard to notice... or believe.... too bad really.

Megan Hart not at her best

Would you try another book from Megan Hart and/or Gia St. Claire?

Yes, I normally love Megan's books, this one was not as good as I know her to be

What could Megan Hart have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Boring, Jack and Sam are boring. I don't really understand why they are both necessary for this story, it's like 2 partial books intertwined. Too much detail about the funeral stuff. Boring.

How could the performance have been better?

Her male voice makes each of these supossedly hot men sound like they are 12 year old boys. She is whiney too.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Stranger?

Either all of Sam or all of Jack. I prefer Jack to Sam.

Any additional comments?

Don't spend a credit on this one.

Just OK for me

What did you like best about Stranger? What did you like least?

**Spoilers** I liked the plot in the book about Grace having a hard time dealing with having a relationship due to the fact that she deals with death on a daily basis, but on the other hand after Sam comes into her life I don't like the fact it takes her so long to alter her lifestyle. I'm a romantic and feel when you meet the man you love then you would want to be with him.

Would you recommend Stranger to your friends? Why or why not?

No, it just didn't impress me enough to recommend someone to purchase it even if it's on sale cheap. There are too many other options instead.

Did Gia St. Claire do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I would of preferred a different voice in this type book.

Do you think Stranger needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

NO! Simply because I didn't enjoy it enough to want to listen to a follow-up.

Any additional comments?

I'm not impressed with this one.

Not for me.

Just seems like something a non-author could write. Not interesting. Doesn't flow. I will not waste another one of my credits on these books.

Boring and Vanilla

Would you try another book from Megan Hart and/or Gia St. Claire?

Not likely

What could Megan Hart have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The sexual adventures were mundane and boring. Nothing exciting about the main character or her actions.

Would you be willing to try another one of Gia St. Claire???s performances?

Maybe.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Stranger?

Most of the scenes involving her parents or the rest of her family for that matter. That portion of the story didn't relate.

Any additional comments?

I was very disappointed in this book. I have listened to Hart's books in the past and they were much more exciting. I found myself fast forwarding through alot of this book in the second part, listening for excited utterances to stop for, no such luck.Talk about beating a dead horse>>> Didn't think it would ever end.

Hard to finish

I love Megan Hart, so it pains me to say that it took me weeks to get through the second half of this book. I wanted to love it, I just didn’t.
