Repetitive

I like Christine Feehan's books usually but I found Spirit Bound to be fairly boring most of the way through. Too much repetition in describing characters and their circumstances. I found myself fast forwarding through much of the book. The ending was okay but could have been better I feel.

Felt like relationship councling.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not really. I didn't really enjoy all the emotional healing/counceling talk. I suppose I couldn't connect with this aspect of the story. I'm sure others can.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Typical HEA and sweet. Nothing that 'WOW'ed me.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator was a 3 star (meaning: I liked the performance, not 4 stars='really liked' or 5 stars='the best I've experienced'). He was decent and did a decent job on the female voices (I've heard worst).

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No. It is not original enough.

Any additional comments?

Spirit Bound is an enjoyable story with sweet talk that any woman would want to hear from her man. I just don't find the story all that original. Give it a try, you might enjoy it. It wasn't totally unworthy of my credit.

I want to live in Sea Haven!!

Where does Spirit Bound rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 100 around 95 (I have listened to a lot of books!!) Top 10 series.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the whole Sea Haven small town feel, the love and care between women who have been through the ringer and understand and love unconditionally. I would LOVE to have 130 acres, by the ocean and share it with people I love.

What three words best describe Don Harvey’s performance?

Not his genre. I liked the sound of his voice, however, he didn't do any accents and everyone sounded alike. I would have loved to hear Alyssa Bresnahan do this series. To me, she is the VOICE of Sea Haven.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I have NO idea. LOL

Any additional comments?

I am really hoping for a different narrator. I hate putting a narrator down but like I said, this was not Mr. Harvey's type of story. Sorry.

Why the new narrator

Would you try another book from Christine Feehan and/or Don Harvey?

Christine - yesDon - no

Would you recommend Spirit Bound to your friends? Why or why not?

Not the audio book

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The voice was not right for this series. All the guys sounded alike and the girls sounded like guys. When Stefan was talking to Judith I couldn't tell who was who. Additionally, the Russian accent was missing all together. Should have used same narrator from the Drake series to continue the Sea Haven series. I waited for this one and I was soooooo disappointed!!

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A better narrator

The book was okay but I didn't like the audible.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, I had read the book first and found it slow. I was hoping the audible book would bring the story to life. but I didn't like the narrator. All of the characters sounded the same.

Would you be willing to try another book from Christine Feehan? Why or why not?

Yes, I have listened to all of the Sea Haven series as well as Water Bound and I enjoyed them all. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

What didn’t you like about Don Harvey’s performance?

He didn't bring the characters to life. What I really enjoyed with the other Feehan books was the fact that the narrator gave each character a voice.

Could you see Spirit Bound being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, I am not sure who the stars would be.

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to the next book in the series with out Don Harvey

Wordy and redundant

This installment of the saga is very emotional/sensitive story of vindication. The has (I think) a little much sex in it. A harden assassin is after you, stop having sex and let’s start constructing a plan to stay alive. You can have all the sex you want after he’s dead.

Love this series!!

I have listened to this series many times. If you haven't read/listened to the Drake Sisters series, you should. The 2 series are about Sea Haven.

Lots of sex, not enough story!

Would you try another book from Christine Feehan and/or Don Harvey?

I was looking forward to learning more about Rikkii's sisters but this book left a lot missing. If your looking for an erotic story this is it. Not much else here though. So sad! The first book in the series was very interesting but this one not so much!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The plot needs more!!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narration not bad but missed the narrator form the Drake Sisters. Should have used the same one.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More romance, not as much sex.

Any additional comments?

Might try the next book, hope it's as good as the first one. So sad, another narrator again!

The narrator made the story for me!

Like others here, I've read all the Sea Haven books and listened to most of them. I really like the male narrator for the Prakenski's and I hope they will continue to use this narrator for the rest of the books. One person commented he didn't do any accents. He used a French accent, a Russian accent and an American accent. He was pretending to be an American for much of the book. I enjoyed his voice very much.

The story itself was also very good and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because, like most Feehan books, things are repeated endlessly. But it seems to work for her as she sells lots of books, many to me!

The next book, Air Bound, is due out in May, 2014, and I so hope they will use a male narrator. These are the Prakenski brothers books and they are male, very male! Yea!

Just FYI for Audible, I did NOT get the audio book for Water Bound because the sample did not demonstrate her male voices. Some women are pretty good, but others just keep sounding like women. Just unacceptable.
