Publisher's Summary

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. Speed is the second book in the 44 Chapters spin-off series - a gritty, taboo love triangle overflowing with dark humor and tangible teen angst. It is based on a true story.

After her possessive, psychopathic, rage-fueled ex, Knight, joins the Marines, 16-year-old BB is left trying, and failing, to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart. It isn't until she meets Harley James - an easy-going, tattooed mechanic with a face as angelic as his habits are sinful - that she learns how to live again. How to laugh again. But will she learn to love again?

Over Knight's dead body.

Note: Due to excessive profanity, violence, graphic sexual content, and themes of juvenile drug use and delinquency, this audiobook is not intended for - and should probably be completely hidden from - anyone under the age of 18.

My Two Pennies

I love Ramona Master and her narration. The way she portrays BB I can totally see it and you can feel that there’s a passion behind her work. LADY LADY LADY, damn Speed is a MUST READ!!! I loved 44 Chapters and then BB decided to give the men their own full length stories and I was consumed with Knight now we are given Harley's story and holy smokes I the race was on because I never wanted to put this book down. Three way love triangle had my jaw dropped Im still totally #TeamKnight but Harley won me over from time to time. This woman is unstoppable and unpredictable with the events that take place and the decisions made. My mind was just blown. Another incredible story has been shared with us through the eyes and mind of BB. Im dying to know whats happens in the future and cannot wait for more. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Knight...Harley...Lady love🔺

Speed takes us on a journey through BB’s life after Knight enlisted in the marines. While continuing her search to fit in BB meets Harley shortly after Knight left town.

The narrator transitioned through the female characters voices well. Ramona Master’s feminine voice was great for the female characters, but the male voices didn’t carry over as well. I prefer audio books to use both male and female voices. BB’s voice was narrated exactly how I pictured a sixteen year old would sound. It was spunky and enthusiastic.
Harley’s voice was supposed to sound dark and sexy, yet it was dry and raspy. He sounded stoned all the time. The transition between male characters was hard to distinguish. If BB hadn’t stated who was speaking I would have assumed every character was Harley.

BB attracted older bad guys with sinful habits. She was still impulsive and spontaneous. BB has low standards for attracting guys. In this case, BB needed an escape from Knight and Harley was fun. BB’s biggest problems in life were making curfew, not getting pregnant, trying not to catch an STD, and whose house to sleep at. BB lived a colorful life of sex, drugs, and drinking. It was all about looking cool and fitting in no matter the consequences. The only consequences that mattered were her parents concern for her curfew.

BB went from a broken guy to a bad guy. Her standards in guys hadn’t improved much. BB was too forgiving and easy going with naivety. She and these characters were shameless.
I realized early on I’m not the intended audience for this type of book. I’m hardly concerned with the trivial teenage problems of these characters. When BB Easton stated this was based loosely on a true story I was intrigued. Instead I found limited to no connection with these characters. Between the dialogue, partying, and casual sexual encounters I couldn’t establish a reason for her random acts of carelessness.
