Publisher's summary

In Son of No One, next in the blockbuster The Dark-Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, it's not easy being life's own personal joke, but Josette Landry has made an unstable peace with the beast. Completely down on her luck, Josette takes a job with a local paranormal group as a photographer and camerawoman. Yeah, they're even crazier than she is. The only paranormal thing she believes in is the miracle that keeps her rusted-out hoopty running. But when something truly evil is released into the world, they are forced to call in reinforcements.

From the moment Josette meets Cadegan, she knows something about him isn't quite right. Mysterious and armed with lethal sarcasm, he seems a lot older than his age.

Centuries ago, Cadegan was viciously betrayed by the only person he'd ever trusted and was cast into an immortal prison. Forced against his will to do good, he hates everything in life. All he wants is a way out. But for the damned there is only eternal suffering. And yet there is something about Josette that intrigues him. Something he can't seem to fight and the last time he felt this way about a woman, it cost him everything.

He knows he has to stay away from her, but the unleashed demon is hell-bent on consuming her soul. If one more innocent is taken, he will be sent back to an unimaginable prison that makes his current hell look like paradise. But how can he keep her safe when his being with her is the greatest threat of all?

I waited a year for this?

Would you try another book from Sherrilyn Kenyon and/or Holter Graham?

Well, since I have to know how the whole thing ends, and hope I live that long, yes, I'm a sucker...

What could Sherrilyn Kenyon have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write something new for a change, or just tie up all the loose ends and end the series. Surely she's made enough money by now...The last how many books are the same old same old....same sad story, same phrases, over, and over, and over, and over....I can't believe it takes her a whole year just to insert different characters into the same tired storyline.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Holter Graham?

I love Holter, truly, but really? He's been doing these characters so long, I can't understand why he's not consistent with them.... Styxx sounded like a combination of Fury (the wolf) and Nick during Sam's book. Talon had a couple different accents in a single conversation, which was different, though slightly better than the horrible one he used in time Untime. And where did Bethany's egyptian accent go? Sometimes it was hard to tell who was speaking, the women all pretty much sounded alike. Jaden, Kassar, were just awful, Thorn's accent changed a few times throughout the book as well. Ash was almost OK.... He did get Simi right, thank goodness...

Did Son of No One inspire you to do anything?

Yes, find a new series to listen to

Any additional comments?

I felt like this book was really short and somewhat sloppy. As I said before the storyline is just tired. The characters didn't even know each other five minutes before the raunchy sex started. The series used to have a direction, now it seems to be going all over the place, bringing in new pantheons with the same parallel plot line, and it also seems in this book, like she's trying to tie in with one of her other series, which if I'm not mistaken is based on King Arthur's myths, just as this series is (was) based on Greek myths. It's just all too much and doesn't make a lot of sense anymore to keep dragging it out year after year with almost no new info in each book. The little snippets of info at the very end were confusing, and I'm still trying to piece that all together. Please let's go back and find out about Savitar, Jaden, Jared....stop going off on wild tangents with people who have nothing to do with the Dark Hunters.... This was definitely NOT a Dark Hunter novel.

Another satisfying Dark Hunter/ Demon Chaser book.

I felt like this book was the return to SK regular books. Sherrilyn Kenyon is the queen of tortured hero's and this book is no exception. Luckily it was one where the hero wasn't so tortured that it was too painful to listen to. I'm always a sucker for a sassy heroine and Jo was great. Of course it was practically love at first sight which is a little unbelievable, but the story of how they escaped together for their happily ever after was the true story. I had quite of few chuckles over the freaky Friday moments. I also loved the return of old characters from books past. I don't recommend reading this book or any in the series without reading them in order. Narrator rocks of course, gotta love Holter Graham.

Son of who?

This is probably my least favorite of all SK's novels. I started this book looking for the pulse pounding heart stopping action that I have come to expect and this book just did not deliver. The sarcasm was not in this book like previous books.
We do get some insight into Thorn and Jaden. We get to see some old fav's like Ash, Simi, Styxx, Kat, and Fang. There is a cliff hanger about Sav that make you think hum......
Things I did not like about the book was the instat love expecially since Joe just got divorced. I did not feel the love connection, it kept feeling like she pitted him and he loved her because she was there. The multiply names for characters, made me confused for awhile. The new people I have never heard of from the LOA series.
I will reread this just because I know I did not catch it all the first time for all the confusion between the characters names and the new people. I am looking forward to the next book! I was happy to see Holter back as the narrator. The brogue speak was hard to understand for me as well. I think that is my issue with my hearing rather than the narrator though.

Craving More....

If you could sum up Son of No One in three words, what would they be?

Redeemingly heartwrenching and beautiful

What other book might you compare Son of No One to and why?

Acheron and Styxx have the same theme of powerful man with a mountain high struggle feeling unworthy of love. But finding it not only in a woman but in a community of people.

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

His voice is familiar and soothing. I especially love the consistency of the same voice throughout all the books.

Any additional comments?

I much prefer listening to this series than reading it. Holter Graham's voice and Kenyon's imagery go so well together that I find myself listening over and over. Not only to keep character back stories straight but to wrap the the comfort of the two (Graham and Kenyon) around me like a warm blanket.

An honorable man!

Well, we know that all of Sherrrilyn Kenyon's characters are damaged in one way or another. This one is no different, and like all of the others he is honorable, which makes you fall for him! He is strong, handsome, steadfast and loyal. The problem is he is loyal to someone who really does not deserve it. As always, along comes that one person who can save him. Together they move through different adversities and with the help of a few other well known characters like Ash, Thorn, and the Devereauxs, they make it out of trouble. Of course, we are set up for the next chapter in the Dark Hunters war.

I gave this story three stars because, like I said, it's the same as all the others. You know the formula ahead of time. The performance is stellar! I was very impressed when Mr. Graham was able to keep the character voices correct when they were in each others body! Overall, for Dark Hunter fans, this is another keeper.

Son of No One

Where does Son of No One rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in the top ten. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, even if they have similar features. There's a body switching scene that's hilarious and every couple should have to go through. Illarion is my new favorite dragon.

What did you like best about this story?

How tender and sweet Cade is regardless of how lonely he is. The poetry he speaks is so pretty, I always stopped and gasped at his Aphrodite reference.

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

Everything. The accents were great and he sounded just like he did before his surgery. It's great to hear him again.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I'm not that creative so I'll let other people do that.

Any additional comments?

I was excited for this book because of the accents and Holter didn't disappoint. I love the Scottish accent, even if I have to listen to it over and over. There's something magical and sexy about it that not many readers get right.

I was happy to see Styxx bonding with Cade about how crappy their brothers could be. It's great to see Styxx again and actually see him happy after the last book and wrapping up that mess. But, it's these people's lives. It'll never be wrapped up until they're dead. I don't want to that happen ever.

Same Storyline Different Characters

It was a good story and the performance of the reader was good. But listening to her books back to back reminded me that all of her books have the same basic storyline but different characters.
