Publisher's Summary

It all starts at a party, as these things often do...A one-night stand with far-reaching consequences. Momentarily enamored guests going home with all the wrong people. An unfaithful wife struck by jealousy and getting a dose of her own medicine. A shocking family secret revealed at the worst possible moment.

One fling follows another, and now the whole community is embroiled in a great big web of deceit, the untangling of which will charm you, amuse you, make you laugh, and make you cry. Whatever's going on in your life, Solo by Jill Mansell is the perfect distraction right about now...

Annoying narrator

Omg this woman's pitch and tone make this boring story quite insufferable to listen to. Why does the pitch of her voice have to go up at the end of every sentence. It drove me mad and I just couldn't make it into chapter 2

Terrible narrator

I can't actually submit a review of this story as I couldn't listen to the book due to the awful narration.
I have read most of Jill Mansell's books and enjoyed them. I will have to read this for myself when I get around to.
Very disappointed. I will always check the narrator's voice and intonation in future before buying the audible book version.

Predictable but enjoyable

It took a little while to get into this book. Was a very predictable plot but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Good story but difficult to listen to.

I enjoyed the story as I expected. The narrator has odd prosody throughout except when speaking in a northern accent. I had not realised how the narrative style would affect my enjoyment of the book.

Great book but already on Audible

I love this book but purchased it this morning following an email highlighting it as a new release on Audible. However I realised soon after beginning listening that I had already listened to this book as it had been released previously with a different narrator. Thank goodness for the Good Read Guarantee...

Too much emphasis in the narrating

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I didn't enjoy the narrating of this story. I was distracted by the irrelevant emphasis that was consistent with all the characters. This effectively made all characters too similar.
