Publisher's summary

Marcus Snackenberg is a born ladykiller.

When Minnie Cooper moves back to her dad's hometown as a child, with her two brothers and Star Wars action figures in tow, they become immediate friends.

By junior high, Minnie, although unaware, is in love with him. Snack is completely in touch with his feelings for her.

Sometimes the villain in the story isn't a person. Sometimes it's time. And space. And fear. Fear of losing the best friend you've ever had.

Snack.

An overnight romance 26 years in the making.

Great story, not thrilled with narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Overall I would recommend this to anyone.

Did Angie Hickman do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narrator did a good job with the different characters. I did have an issue with her voice, and her portrayal of the heroine. "Minni". The voice is very whiny.

Any additional comments?

I think overall this would be a good book for anyone. Wonderful storyline, plot, and characters.

Sweet Second Chance to Love

This was my first Emma Burton's book. This is a good second chance to love. Minnie and Snack's story is filled with twists and turns. The back and forth, past to present, is well done, and easy to follow. I love the ending. Angie Hickman did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

So many missed opportunities

This book really encompasses the feel of star crossed lovers missing their chance to be happy until the very end.

We follow the story of Snack and Mini as they try to find each other, while getting passages of their past and seeing how their relationship formed and ultimately crashed, before they reunite for good. The story moves along at a good pace and I enjoyed the narrator's voice. There could possibly be more play on male characters, but overall it was good.

The most heartbreaking scene for me was when Wookie got injured. I'm a huge animal lover and usually avoid anything of this nature, but that broke my heart.

I want a Snack!

This was such a good book. I was a little unsure at first because the narrator's voice is a bit 'little girl-ish' but it really ended up working great. I totally loved the story also and I wish I had read this book even earlier. I love the name, the book/audible cover. It all works so well together! Snack was Mini's (both nick names) one and only from first meeting, but things just never worked out for them to be together when they finally tried a couple of times throughout the years. Then years later, after tragedy strikes, they come back together and what a whirlwind that was. This story goes back and forth between the past and present to explain the entire story, from the time they first met at 6 yrs old until the present. What I loved about this also was that Mini wasn't a girly girl, she had a sailor's mouth. So you have a narrator that sounds so sweet and cute and Mini was dirtier than a lot of alpha men. Snack was an alpha man, but could cry and show his feelings as well. I love that in a man, when they can express their feelings. I just loved this story and will definitely have to find some more books by Emme Burton to read.

Snack is delicious!!

I love this story and these characters. Snack and Minnie are the stupidest, smart people I "know"! But growing up and figuring things out can be difficult. The key is COMMUNICATION which didn't always play a role between these two.

I love this story so much it's on my kindle, audible, and have a signed paperback! Oh, and a t-shirt and wide bracelet. Love Snack!! ❤

Delightful!

This was a delightfully sweet story. I loved how nerdy, yet foul-mouthed, Minnie was. I also enjoyed Snacks undying claim on her. The narrator read the story well...pacing was good, and her emotion came across well.

I have to say that Emme Burton had some really great comedic lines too! She had me laughing out loud for sure, especially with the McGyver zip-lock line.

I'd definitely recommend this book.

Sweet 2nd chance romance

This story is a 1st perspective that goes back and forth between the present and the past and focuses on the main character's relationship with "Snack". I really enjoyed the stories about how they bonded when they children and again how hey met again as adults, but it felt a little disjointed at times. Also the high school/college retellings felt rushed and just seemed a little unrealistic to me which in turn made the story fall a little flat at times. I thought the narrator did a great job and definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the book.
