Publisher's Summary

My name is Sevin. Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin. Elle was the girl who'd been carefully chosen for me. After a long-distance courtship, I'd be moving into her family's guest house so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding. Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage. I'd accepted those rules and my fate - until I met the one I wanted to sin with. That was when restraint became a problem, especially since "the one" wasn't Elle; it was her sister, Evangeline.

Contains mature themes.

SO.MUCH.ANGST

If you could sum up Sins of Sevin in three words, what would they be?

Angsty, Forbidden, Heartwrenching

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sins of Sevin?

Well, I don't want to leave any spoilers, but I would say this, half way through the book at Part 2.

Have you listened to any of Sean Crisden and Aletha George ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not. But Sean sounds Just like Kevin Bacon!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually DID listen to this in one sitting. On the plus side, my house was clean by the end of it.

Any additional comments?

This is now one of my favorite books.
Penelope Ward's stories are amazing.

Disappointed

I have loved all her books until this one. For one I don't agree with arranged marriages so the start of the book didn't grab me. I loved Sevin and his character but Evangeline just made me mad and I didn't care for her. The author did a great job with showing the chemistry between them but the rest of the story just wasn't for me.

Awesome Narration

It was an overall good story. Though at times intangible to relate too.. LOVE the Narrator.

A good forbidden love story but not a light one.

I kept passing on this book due to the arranged marriage. However, I like Penelope Ward's books so I took a chance with my credit. I admit the middle of the book was a difficult listen because of the unfortunate life paths of Sevin and Evangeline. I was also angry at the selfish characters: Lance, Olga and Elle. This was a dramatic, forbidden love story. The couple's love was sweet, passionate, and sexy. My heart ached throughout until I ended up crying with the surprise ending. With all the angst, I'm glad I used my credit. I star off because of my anguish.

Too torturous

DNF
Tried to get into the book but right away you could tell the religious beliefs were just to much along with the whole arranged marriage and friction between sisters. Not for me. Too tormenting

Omg?! So EMOTIONAL 😭 I truly enjoyed this book so much!

This book is so sad but so well written. It’s like a roller coaster ride. I like that the author did not drag this book out bcuz their were so many chances she could. I have tears rolling down my face the last 45 min of this book. I will say, there is some what a believe able happy ending. Everything about this book was....not as I expected. The sex scenes were great but not too much, not a lot of cursing like some of the books I’ve been reading. There are some happy times, sadness and heartbreak. I feel for both the main characters. I wish there was more but then it would be too predictable and cliché for happy endings. Read this book if you want something realistic.

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful...

If you could sum up Sins of Sevin in three words, what would they be?

Heartbreaking, Beautiful, Emotional

What did you like best about this story?

I loved everything about this story, I loved that it was different than anything out there.

Which scene was your favorite?

Probably the very last chapter, I can't say what happened because of spoilers, but it had me ugly crying at my desk like a crazy person.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Evangiline finally told Sevin everything... All of it... OMG it was so sad and I NEVER expected any of it.

Any additional comments?

This book was amazing, I cried, I laughed, I was so angry. I love a book and author that can make me feel everything throughout the pages. I am so absolutely heartbroken for Sevin.
