Publisher's summary

Desperate to escape an arranged marriage to an evil magician, Rowan flees her village - and runs right into the path of a handsome stranger. When Grant comes to her aid, she takes comfort in his arms...and sees a solution to her problem. Her betrothal will be called off if she loses her virginity - and her virile protector is the perfect man to do the honor.

Determined to seduce him, Rowan traps them together in a cave, where she and Grant soon give in to their undeniable desires. But despite their growing bond, she cannot reveal her telekinetic powers or risk being persecuted as a witch.

Grant has a secret of his own - he is Prince Grantland, reluctant heir to the throne of Arandal. He's thrilled to find a woman who's interested in him, not his crown. But he and Rowan cannot hide themselves - and the truth - forever. Will their love survive once Grant discovers she's everything he's been raised to hate and fear?

Decent read and excellent listen..

Another story that could have been better if the author wasn’t more concerned with sex than the story. Pages and pages of sex, TWICE, in this 79 page novella is just cray-cray. This is from 2012 and only has 7 reviews on Amazon and 42 ratings on Goodreads. That should tell you something. Give the readers a story instead of so much sex in novellas.

BUT, overall, it was a good short read, what there was of it. Could have been better, though. I did like Prince Grantland and Rowan but the ending was but very abrupt. I won’t be reading anything else by this author. Her concentration is based on sex and not the story-line.

The F-bomb was used 1 time.

As to the narration: I can’t place the voice of Sofia London but I know she’s someone other than that name and I love her reading voice AND I loved her in this one too. Her voices are wonderful and she reads with great emotions. She laughed, cried, whispered, whatever the story called for, and the men sounded like men. What more could you ask for. (I’ll figure out who she is eventually. Unless all of you audible listeners would like to help me out.) YAY! My daughter took about 3 seconds to tell me it’s Susan Duerden. She’s such a good daughter.

I got this from the audible Romance Package for free and the book from Amazon for $1.99. I’m not sure it was worth that.

Good short story

For a short Romantic paranormal, it was good. It was definitely steamier than I thought it would be.

Steamy Fantasy Read!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, the story was entertaining and held my interest.

If you’ve listened to books by Rebecca York before, how does this one compare?

Never heard one before.

Which scene was your favorite?

The steamy first time in the cave.

Did Shattered Magic inspire you to do anything?

Look into the first book in the series

Any additional comments?

I am torn on this one. It is a fantasy read and the second in a series. I was unaware I was reading the second book and now I feel like I need to backtrack to the first to get a fuller picture of the world.

I liked Rowen from the start and she is a really engaging character. Mostly I liked Grantland, well when he wasn't being bigoted jerk.

The story moves along rather quickly and a lot is crammed into a short time.

The steam is hot and heavy. A couple really steam scenes. I would have liked one more at the end.

I think if I had read this as part of the series I would have understood more and really liked the story. It may have helped to have been in a fantasy mood as well.

Overall good story but not really what I was craving at the moment.

Girly fantasy

Fantasy cliche + overactive libido = this story. Entertaining enough to listen to, but zero personality or depth from any of the characters, rushed plot being pushed along awkwardly. Made me think that this is a story a horny high school aged person might write if they liked dragons and princes
