Publisher's summary

Psychology professor and criminal profiler Taylor Martin prides herself on being able to solve any crime except the one she wants most desperately to solve - the disappearance of her father 20 years ago. When she finally has a lead on his whereabouts, Taylor returns home to Logan Point, Mississippi, to investigate. But as she works to uncover the truth, someone else will do almost anything to keep her from it.

Nick Sinclair pens mystery novels for a living, but the biggest mystery to him is how he can ever get over the death of his wife - a tragedy he believes he could have prevented. Now that his estranged brother is the only family he has left, Nick sets out to find him. But when he crosses paths with Taylor, all he seems to find is trouble.

Join the chase as Taylor and Nick search the murky shadows of the past for the keys to unlocking the present - and moving into a future they never imagined.

Narrator is bad

This narrator does NOT know how to enunciate. Good grief! I will not listen to her again

Anything about God and someone giving their life completely to God, through Christ Jesus is a big hit with me! I loved the story line and the romance. ordering the next "listen " in this series.

Predictable

Very predictable; semi murder mystery, somewhat romance. It was ok, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it to a friend.

Down a long and twisted road. Many lives are just like that, until we get to the straight and narrow.

This is my first experience with author, Patricia Bradley. I really loved the plot and its direction. The characters were so alive and real. I can't wait to check out her other published books and more in this series.
Elise Arsenault was good but at first she sounded like she had a head cold and stuffy. Not the male characters just the female.

Good

Predictable story. Likeable characters. Narrator is the worse thing about this listen, especially when a male is speaking.

Good mystery, good narrator...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Tiny bit gruesome to me, just in the details, not that it's gory.

Any additional comments?

Enjoyed the mystery, which was not easy to figure out. Didn't enjoy the needless killing, but that's the way these mystery stories are sometimes :(

Great Story

The story was great. The plot and characters were interesting. The narrator’s voice was pleasant. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY PLEASE SELECT A NARRATOR THAT PRONOUNCES THE “T” IN A WORD. I wanted to finish the book but listening was painful.

Good faith based mystery book

If you could sum up Shadows of the Past in three words, what would they be?

Interesting, engaging and aggrevating

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shadows of the Past?

The struggles of the different families - story line is realistic.

What three words best describe Elise Arsenault’s voice?

Clear, understandable, annoying - she pronounces Martin as Mardin which got old. Does that with several words.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not particularly; I didn't expect it to it was a good listen. I don't regret purchasing the book and will listen to other books in this series.
