Publisher's Summary

Maia D'Apliése and her five sisters gather together at their childhood home, Atlantis - a fabulous, secluded castle situated on the shores of Lake Geneva - having been told that their beloved father, the elusive billionaire they call Pa Salt, has died. Maia and her sisters were all adopted by him as babies, and, discovering he has already been buried at sea, each of them is handed a tantalizing clue to their true heritage - a clue that takes Maia across the world to a crumbling mansion in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Once there she begins to put together the pieces of where her story began.

Eighty years earlier, in the Belle Epoque of Rio 1927, Izabela Bonifacio's father has aspirations for his daughter to marry into aristocracy. Meanwhile architect Heitor da Silva Costa is working on a statue, to be called Christ the Redeemer, and will soon travel to Paris to find the right sculptor to complete his vision. Izabela - passionate and longing to see the world - convinces her father to allow her to accompany him and his family to Europe before she is married. There, at Paul Landowski's studio and in the heady, vibrant cafés of Montparnasse, she meets ambitious young sculptor Laurent Brouilly and knows at once that her life will never be the same.

In this sweeping epic tale of love and loss - the first in a unique, spellbinding series of seven books based on the legends of the Seven Sisters star constellation - Lucinda Riley showcases her storytelling talent like never before.

"4 Generations of Mystery and Love"

This is the first book in a series that is about 6 sisters that were all adopted by an influential and mysterious man. This book focuses on the oldest daughter, Maia, who travels on a journey to find her heritage and ultimately finds unexpected clues to her family's past. It is a story that spans 4 generations and is a complex, deeply moving tale of love lost and found.

This is a wonderful story and is worth a credit if you want a nice change of pace from other historical romances.

    "Not a fan"

I really loved The light in the Window, but this was a bit of a let down. I did enjoy the historical romance, but I felt most of the characters complain-y, even with mass amounts of money.
The book opens up to additional series on the remaining sisters, but I was not interested in learning more about them. The main character was my favorite and the other sisters just sounded annoying.

    "Can't wait for the rest!"
Where does Seven Sisters rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved this story. The only downside is that the series is not completely written yet. The mystery that surrounds this family is big, and the characters are so real. As this book focused on Maia, the oldest of the sisters, I can't wait to learn about the others. The author gave us just enough information on them to be sure we come back for more.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Its so hard to pick. I think I have to go with Maia though. While my heart broke for Bel, and Beatrix certainly made a big impression, being along for the ride as Maia's character grew was the highlight for me.

Which character – as performed by Emily Lucienne – was your favorite?

A narrator can make or break an audio book, and she was all around fantastic.

    "Another great Luncida Riley book!!"

Again, great book from mrs Riley. And getting concerned as I am running low on listening material from her . Having downloaded "the storm sister " I would love to know what's next, and most importantly, when?
Emily Lucienne did a wonderful job too narrating, and I am looking forward to listen to other books she narrated . ..

    "Decent story but annoying voice."

I was disappointed in this Lucinda Riley book. A Brazilian/Portugese/English speaker with an Australian accent???

    "Enthralled"
Would you listen to Seven Sisters again? Why?

I'm always thinking that I've missed something. Nonetheless, the story is so intriguing, and I love all the characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Seven Sisters?

I thoroughly enjoyed the love affair between Isabelle and Laraunt.

What does Emily Lucienne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    The various languages and accents

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Definitely

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait to hear the remaining sisters stories.

"Predictable, stereotypes characters, banal main character"

My subject heading says it all. It wasn't even a good enough story to get lost in the ease of a predictable tale. I never could figure out why the main love interests ever really liked each other. Especially Isabelle. Why did dude man like her? She was so not interesting. She did nothing, she never said anything interesting, she was just pretty. Blah.

"Great potential but needed better writing."

I love the concept of the story that was very disappointed in how undeveloped each character was. And there are few writers , Like Kate Morton, who can successfully carry out the flashbacks to history combined with present day plots. Unfortunately, Lucinda Riley is not one of them. I felt that neither story was fully developed, which is a shame because they could have both been great stories.

So many layers and unanswered questions. That's why I read it twice. The characters. The settings. The story itself. Will read her others

"A good start to a series"

Also bought the audio version through Kindle Unlimited. Character's well defined and story twists and turns making this an enjoyable listen although at some times predictable. Was looking forward to the next in the series but only available on Audible at £26.00 to non members. Not for me.

For me this book was rather mediocre as I had high expectations as it had very good reviews. Storyline was drawn out. The narration - I found the tone boring. Overall disappointed
