Publisher's summary

When a researcher disappears with millions, Val Chase, the director of public relations at a hospital, faces the biggest challenge of her career. To make matters worse, the CEO brings in his old college roommate, a crisis management ringer and a man Val is convinced wants to make her look bad. She instantly dislikes the smooth-talking man with the expensive suit who threatens her very livelihood, even as she's drawn to him physically. Nate O'Halloran is just trying to do a favor for a friend and is caught off-guard by the sexy PR director who's determined to handle this crisis without his help. His eagerness to rush back to his A-list celebrity clientele is waning by the minute, as Val's beauty and fiery personality enthrall him. As Nate gets to know Ms. Chase better, for the first time in his life he sees how empty his existence is and a future that includes a woman. As things at the hospital go from bad to worse, can he convince Val he's more than a playboy and not out for her job?

Loved Nate & Val

I loved this story even more after listening to Kai and Wen's performance. They always bring each character's personality into the story and I love the humor and laughter they incorporate as they are narrating. I actually liked Val better this time versus when I read the book and Nate was so sexy. This is a great contemporary romance story for everyone.

Great Book

What made the experience of listening to Seducing Chase the most enjoyable?

The way that the narrators brought the story to life.

Any additional comments?

Seducing Chase by Cassandra Carr was another great book by the author. Val and Nate have a chemistry that they can't deny. While things go from bad to worse for the hospital that Val work for, they both get closer. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author. This is a must read.

OH BOY what a suspense filled listen!!

If you could sum up Seducing Chase in three words, what would they be?

hmmm, only three words??

What other book might you compare Seducing Chase to and why?

As I haven't read anything exaclty like this, I can't answer this question. Also I hate comparing books.

Which character – as performed by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross – was your favorite?

Gosh I can't really say which is the best character performed by Kai & Wen, I loved them all, although Val & Nate did really stand out compared to the rest.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

HOT, STEAMY, SUSPENSEFUL

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed listening to Kai & Wen tell Nate & Val's story, they added much more heat within the story, than if I was only reading it... I think it helps tremendously that they compliment one-anther's work within the narrating.

Seducing Chase

PR Val works at a hospital. When a huge scandal starts, Nate comes in to help save them. Val doesn't want any help but Nate is there to help anyway. They have plenty of sexual tension and some very hot scenes.

What can I say

The story was a simple love story. A enjoyable listen. The narration was great I really do not like Kai;s voice that much but I really enjoy listening to the books her and Wen read. I wish all books were read in this manner. All in all worth a credit.

Heating up the Office

Would you consider the audio edition of Seducing Chase to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version so I am unable to answer if it was better.

Have you listened to any of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listen to a lot of Kai and Wens performances they are my go to narrators. With Kai and Wen you never get the same character twice (unless its a book series ) and that is what I love about them. In this performance the chemistry that they portray with Val and Neil is amazing and have you hooked

PR Nightmare

If you could sum up Seducing Chase in three words, what would they be?

Fun modern romance

What does Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performance was one of the best I have ever heard by them. There was a lot of playfulness in this book and it made for a really fun listen. The palpable exasperation of the characters with each other was also quite amusing. I really enjoyed this book and hope they do more like it in the future! If I had just read this book instead of listening I would have missed alot of the nuance between the characters :)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

PR Nightmare Turns To Love?

Any additional comments?

This seems to be a stand alone novel.

Val's dream job has turned into a nightmare! One of their cancer research doctors has apparently developed a serious gambling addiction. He stole loads of money from the hospital and took off leaving only a note. Will the hospital survive the scandal? The loss of funds? Will they find the missing doctor before he spends all his ill gotten gains? How will she protect the hospital from the media? Is she about to lose her job?

Called in by his best friend to help clean up this PR nightmare, Nate knows he has his work cut out for him. This isn't one of his usual celebrity clients. The hospital does real good in the world. This just might be his most important job ever! Finding himself drawn to the hospital's head of PR is not something he bargained for though. Will he ever get past her prickly defenses? Why does he care so much? Why does she hate all his ideas? And better yet, why isn't he annoyed by that?

***This book is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy fun and funny contemporary romances with steamy sex scenes and a hero and heroine determined to get their own ways leading to a HEA :)

Stop the Bleeding!

This audio book was a good, realistic romance with great narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, who are easily my favorite narrators. Nothing beats dual narration with actors who aren't simply reading aloud.

I liked the characters and enjoyed watching the romance between Nate and Val build. He definitely had to overcome her barriers and prejudice against him (thus, the title). This was my first novel by Cassandra Carr, so I didn't really know what to expect. With the title, I actually expected erotica, which it wasn't. There were a couple of steamy love scenes, but it didn't overpower the plot, and the book didn't revolve around them.

Carr went into great detail building the characters' backstories. There was a lot of suspense, and I got caught up in the story of the theft and its aftermath for the hospital. The two main characters were both publicists forced to work together to stop the bleeding after the scandal broke.

It's a stand alone, but there were a couple of loose ends that I would like to have seen tied up, mostly regarding characters' jobs.

I received this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

a hot little number!

What did you love best about Seducing Chase?

I enjoyed the push and pull of the relationship between Val and Nate as they come to trust each other.

Did Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The two people chosen for the voices did a good job with their roles. I found the way the story was presented different than what I'm used to though. This was read as if it were a script, like a radio drama and not an audiobook. All the other audiobooks I've listened to have had alternating chapters narrated by the male and female characters for their pov, as opposed to both voices in the same chapter. It made for a unique presentation, but it did take a bit for me to get used to this style. I don't think it's my favourite way of hearing an audiobook but the narrators did well with this style.

Any additional comments?

Overall this was an enjoyable story, the couple had good chemistry together and the sex scenes were steamy and interesting.

Loved it!

Any additional comments?

I have both the Kindle Version and the Audible Version. I actually listened to this all in 1 sitting and loved it.

Loved Val and Nate. Val & Nate are working together to help save the reputation of the hospital that Val works at. Val feels that Nate is trying to take over her job. She fights her feelings that keep sneaking up on her about Nate. She knows that he won't be around forever, and isn't comfortable with letting things progress beyond co-workers.

Nate is helping a friend when he finds himself working with Val. He knows that this is only temporary but can't help but fall for Val.

This story takes us on their journey of discovery that there is more to life than their jobs. The sexy bits are hot, the story line is entertaining, the dialogue portrayed by Kai and Wen was done so well and the descriptions to details were done were it was easy to visualize.

Kai and Wen brought the characters to life in the Audio version. Written as a multi pov and does have a HEA.
