Publisher's Summary

On her thirty-first birthday, hopeless romantic Kelsey Callihan has all but given up on happily ever afters, which is why she agrees to a risqué proposition from Sterling Canyon's notorious playboy, backcountry skier Trip Lexington. After all, every girl needs a little fun, and with Trip, there are no mixed signals or risks of a broken heart. And if his tips can help her land a husband in the process, all the better.

Trip couldn't be happier with his secret, no-strings fling with sweet and sexy Kelsey until she calls it quits after meeting a man she believes could share her dream of marriage and family. His jealousy turns to outrage when he discovers that the man is his estranged half brother and lifelong rival.

Now Trip must decide whether the fire in his gut is due to sibling rivalry or something much more dangerous...like love.

OK book. Fabulous narration..

I can’t decide if I liked this or not. It did have an overabundance of drama between Trip, his dad, Ross, his “stepmonster, Deb and his stepbrother Mason. As much as Trip tried to be a part of the family when his mom died when he was 10 years old Deb and Mason were just douchbags every step of the way. His dad really did love him, though Trip couldn’t see it. To hell with Deb and Mason, really, was the way I looked at it. Although, Ross was kind of crazy moving his 10 year old illegitimate son in with his wife and son to begin with. No wonder Trip had his stupid thoughts about marriage. Stupid thoughts that lasted until the last 5% of the book.

And, of course, the trouble with Trip and Kelsey starts the moment she agrees to a sexual arrangement with him, until she found someone else. Yeah, like that had a snowball’s chance in hell of working out that way.

I gotta tell ya’ though, Trip was a manwhore until he started sleeping with Kelsey. It was never shown but it was talked about a lot. Kelsey was sexually attracted to him but knew he wasn’t the marrying kind, and all she thought about and talked about was finding a husband and having kids. It really was kind of annoying at times. It was like she was obsessed with getting married and having kids immediately. Her biological clock was running too fast, or so she thought, since she just turned 31. She wanted to get pregnant so she could raise her kids with her sister Maura’s. A sister who just announced she was pregnant again when her son is only 10 months old. Wow, that seemed a little soon to me. And Kelsey was sooo jealous when Maura announced her pregnancy and then she was sooo jealous again when Avery showed off her engagement ring. Kelsey acted and talked like a 16 year old sometimes rather than 31. Actually, they were both kind of immature. At 80% Trip was still wondering if he could give up other women and Kelsey was sure she could convince him to propose. Almost the entire book was all about this: Kelsey wanting Trip and Trip not sure one woman would ever be enough for him.

And since the arrangement was just sex at first there were 3 or 4 or 5 sex scenes, enough that I skimmed over them. No sexual tension, unless you call Trip telling Kelsey he wanted her and Kelsey saying yes, then all kinds of descriptions of it. (Must be why the book seemed so long.)

Truthfully, I enjoyed the last 25% the most.

As to the narration: You just can’t beat Kate Rudd when it comes to a great narrator. The females sound wonderful and the men sound just like they should. No feminine sounding men in Ms. Rudd’s books. She made the book worth finishing.
