Publisher's Summary

He was standing face-to-face with a dead woman…and she was holding a gun. Lieutenant Seth Buchanan finds his homicide investigation - and his heart - thrown into turmoil when Grace Fontaine turns up very much alive - and in possession of one of the huge blue diamonds known as the Stars of Mithra.

The cool, controlled cop never lets his feelings get in the way of his job, and everything he knows about the notorious heiress tells him she's bad news. But in her irresistible presence, Seth finds it hard to remember there's any mystery more important to solve than that of Grace herself.

Enjoyed it

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

An older series, but enjoyable. I wish the other two books had been made into audiobook format also and the entire series offered at once. This is the 3rd and last one.

Be aware this is a reprint.

Stars of Mithra trilogy

As a Nora Roberts trilogy book, it was okay....Not her best. I felt that she must have recently seen the film noire classic, Laura. Cop finds dead woman, mistakes her for the owner of the residence and falls in love with her portrait.....only to be surprised by the arrival of said woman. If you are a Nora Roberts trilogy fan, I would recommend it......just don't judge her talent by it.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTICALLY MARVELOUS

I think this may be one of her best series yet. This book was definitely fantastic. The more you get to know Bailey, MJ and Grace, the more you like them.

Fun read

While part of the ending was predictable the story line kept me engaged. I enjoyed the series, and the characters.

Good reader, very dated story.

If you could sum up Secret Star in three words, what would they be?

Skip this series. It is not point or money worthy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no

Any additional comments?

I am 90 minutes into the story and find the main character, Grace, distasteful. This was published long ago and Grace uses her sexuality to control men--very much in stereo typical way of an old movie drama. I somehow got this book a while ago and feel like I have an investment in it and just want it over.

Love Nora Roberts don't like the narrator

I love anything Nora Roberts but the narrator was awful. He voiced each book of the trilogy which I didn't like since they are different characters. I think he might have run out of voices for the last installment and spoke in an older women voice for a 26 year old women which ended up sounding creepy at times. I liked the story but would be happy never listening to the narrator's voice again.
