Publisher's summary

By day, Viv Franklin is a tough-as-nails software engineer who designs programs and loves hospital corners. By night, Vivian’s a secret romance-novel junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice - don’t forget the bodice.

When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they?

There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.

In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian. Also within this audiobook, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian?

Cowboy or Librarian?

Alice Clayton definitely knows how to write a romantic comedy with plenty of wit. I loved this story nearly as much as I liked the first book in this series, Wallbanger. At the heart of it is a new adventure, a chance at life, and the love of a house. Then there's the cowboy and the librarian, and boy did that heat up the pages quite a bit! The spark between Clark and Viv, their constant butting of heads and pushing eachother's buttons, and the sexual tension make this novel page-turning yummy!

"It doesn’t always have to be so hard. Sometimes falling in love just means turning around and seeing what’s right in front of you."

Review: Cocktail #3: Screwdrivered

What did you love best about Screwdrivered?

The small town setting of Medocino that Viv moves to. Everyone knows everyone.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clark - He's hot and nerdy, what's not to love?

Which scene was your favorite?

Every scene where Viv looked beyond the elbow patches of Clark's tweed jacket and saw the hotness beneath. And the scene with the bat.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Anything form Alice Clayton will make you laugh out loud, this was no different.

Good audiobook

A little slow at times and far too wordy when describing simple things. Good audio book. I may have put it down if I were actually reading it. Loved the performance as in all the other books she has written.

Cowboy Vs. Librarian

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

half and a half. The book is amazing. there were parts that annoyed me, but most of all it was great. What i didnt like was Heather voice.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My fav character was Clark. He was so smart and polite. Old fashion. and perfect for Viv

Did Heather Smith do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

she did. specially for men, she made a great voice for men. Not for women and not when she was narrating the daydreaming of Viv

Could you see Screwdrivered being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

YES!!!!! Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman

Any additional comments?

BOOK REVIEW: 4 STARS

Alice Clayton is such a great author. Her books are always funny and romantic, and of course, very, very sexy. This new book isn't the exception. I loved the plot, the characters, the connection with Simon & Caroline *Fangirling for the wallbanger*, and most of all, the HEA, i loved it, it was perfect. She made the right decision, too late in my opinion, but she made it.

I felt so related with Viv’s daydreaming crazy tendencies, with her desire for a bad boy and with her blindness *F.F.S. I wanted to kick her ass*. When a woman only see what she wanna see is very frustrating.

Screwdrivered is the story of a young woman, Viv, who believes in book-romance kind of love. When she inherited a beautiful beach house Mendocino, she thought that she was destined to have her own novel-romance, with the chase, the angst and of course the hot steamy sex. She had all the elements to think that she was right about her crazy theory, among them, the Cowboy. *What a Jerk*

I prefered what was really happening in her real life, outside the crazy dreams of a novel romance. The renovation of the house, the friends she made in the small town, and the sincere friendship she was building with the Librarian. The things that happened with both of them were awesome, specially the incident in the porch *licking*.

I could met the woman of the next book of the series, Mai Tai’d Up. I’m sure Chloe will be a great female character. I liked how she reacted when she met Vivian. :)

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 3 STARS

Heather Smith narrated the first two books of the series, Wallbanger and Rusty Nailed, so it was hard for me to separate her breathy voice from Caroline. I didn't like that, because I know that Viv and Caroline are very different, both great characters, but different from eachother. In my honest opinion, they should have picked another narrator. After 2 hours of listening to the audiobook, I get used to her voice and I liked when she made male voices. It was like a real man was talking, not her. That was good. I hope they pick another narrator for the next book of the series.

Hot Male Librarian!

Another out of the ballpark book for Alice Clayton! This story is so hot, funny, and romantic that you will not be disappointed. I actually read this one via audiobook on Audible and found myself laughing out loud at so many parts, the best one that comes to mind is the leg stuck in the front porch. You will have to read for yourself to truly understand to appreciate it!

All I can say is Clark Barrow is one seriously hot librarian!
