There were parts I liked and parts I didn’t. While I understand that MCs have lives before they meet both H & h have very detailed sex scenes with others (two times with different women for the H). Also, there’s so much world building the MC’s don’t even meet until 45% of the way in.

Once they meet, the pace of the story picked up and it became a bit more enjoyable. Somewhat of a Pretty Woman situation ending with a military Op. The characters were a little inconsistent ~ Eric occasionally sounding like a college kid rather than the seasoned Army medic & surgeon he is and Calee being way too worldly & mature for growing up on a religious compound.

Rodney Falcon’s voice is enjoyable and it’s likely his narration is why I finished. There were times where I couldn’t figure out if Banks was using the wrong word or Falcon was pronouncing it incorrectly. The ebook is no longer available, so I couldn’t check.

OK option if you have AE. Banks seems to be hit-or miss for me.

good story

This was not my first story from this author. It had suspense, angst, and some romance. I love strong and smart heroine as well a the hero. At first, I had a hard time connecting with the main characters because they took a while to meet. As the story unfolds, it was when the story picked up. I enjoyed listening thanks to Rodney Falcon. He did excellent job by bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend!

This held me spellbound!

This was another good story from R. R. Banks! I was compelled to keep listening to see what was going to happen! Great subject matter with Callie. Life on a compound...so different. I was surprised and shocked at a few things that happened during the story. I easily listened to this in one day. Let’s just say I was riveted.

This is my fourth book by this author. The story is good and the characters all have different lives. Which I liked. I didn’t get a great feeling of love for the characters but I liked them. This one was narrated by Rodney Falcon. He does a good job and it’s always nice listening to his voice.

new twist with the religious cult

Callee grew up in a cult and manages to escape. She runs into Eric a successful but unhappy surgeon. They are drawn to each other and things are good until cult comes to take her back. Will Eric be able to save her so they can get their HEA ? Listen and find out .

Love the ending

This story took a while for me to really get interested in but once the main characters found each other I was captivated. Narrator is wonderful I have enjoyed everything I’ve heard from him.

She is also caring and compassionate. Eric suffers from PTSD and doesn't let love into his life. But when he sees Calee needing help he doesn't think twice about helping her. She brings out emotions in him that he thought were long gone. This love story is one of awakening emotions, heart break, passionate love, conquering demons, saying goodbye to an old friend, and being ready to die to save your true love. With the author's words and Rodney Falcon's narration the listener will partake in all of these emotions, too. Rodney leads us on this emotional journey by giving the characters a voice. I asked to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote an honest review. I highly recommend this Audible book. It will definitely tug at your heart.

Saving her

This my 2nd book from this author. I liked the 1st one so much that I decided to listen to this one. I think the book may have been more enjoyable if the narrator did a better job with the characters. I just did not like the women voices at all. The story itself was not that believable but was just ok.

Loved this audible.

This was a good book. I really enjoy the way Rodney brings the book to life with the way he narrates. Each book I have listened to of his seems to get better and better. Good choice in narrator by this author. Well worth listening to.

Calee and Eric

I enjoyed this story, it did take a bit to get going though. It feels like two completely different stories until they converge. Cult victim vs Billionaire Doctor unlikely couple, but who better to help a victim than someone who has devoted their live to saving others. Enjoyed the narrator as well.
