Publisher's summary

As a combat hardened Navy SEAL, Thom Grande has fought terrorism around the globe, but he can't fight is his ex-wife. Or her lawyer. Or the alimony payments. Just when he thinks his life can't get any worse, bad luck smacks him up side the head - literally. Now he's got a traumatic brain injury and can't remember his own name. The good news? He can't remember his ex-wife or the woes she's causing him either. Virginia Starr has the worst luck ever with men. But maybe her luck is changing because one hell of a hot man just showed up at her door in the middle of the night. One problem - he can't remember anything, including who he is. The more Ginny sees, the more she realizes, that might not matter all that much. Don't miss the rest of the Hot SEALs series!

A good addition to the series

We continue to get acquainted with more “hot SEALs” in this series. This time, the story centers less on action and more about relationships .
If you have listened/read the previous books, you’ve met Thom Grande.
He’s divorced , with two kids and overwhelmed with the alimony payments and his ex’s demands.
Virginia/GInny, is a writer dealing with writer’s block, unlucky in love and deciding what she’ll do with her life as she housesits an isolated property.
Thom is recovering from a brain injuring and is driving to visit his parents, when he once again gets injured and has temporary amnesia.
After rescuing Thom during which time he gets his memory back, he disappears from Ginny’s life.
Why did he leave her? Will she ever see the man that inspired her to finally write her book? And if he comes back, can she trust that Thom is saying the truth?
Once again, the narrator, Craig Jessen, does a very good delivery of the voices.
Looking forward to more stories in this series.

Hot SEAL on a cold night

Cat Johnson is a go to author for me because she can write military romance in such a way that you feel you know the military characters personally. We feel the emotions to our core. The same feeling we feel when we personally know military men and women who have been in battle, those who have served by those who were in battle and those who battle the front lines at home while our enlisted loved ones are away.

I felt for Thom Grande early on in the book. Life hasn’t been the easiest in the recent past and then he gets a head injury. However, life keeps going and when the “clouds” clear, again, he finds himself in a situation he doesn’t mind one bit. The heat comes quick in this particular book and I don’t mind one bit. Let’s say our heroine doesn’t either.

Virginia is relatable to those of us who find ourselves where dating is more of a chore than enjoyment. However, the thought of spending time alone, all the time, isn’t one we really like to face. Then we have those that constantly remind us of the situation. Who would have guessed that the person of your dreams seems to be dropped right on your front door step.

I felt this book could have tied up some things before it ended. An explanation of why Thom had memory loss when they first met was one. We know that the mission he is on when the book started isn’t is his last but with the issue he was having when they met, has it been completely resolved and no further jars/bumps cause issues? The book seemed to go by quickly but I did enjoy it and love Cat’s writing.

I really enjoyed the audio version of this book. The narrator did an excellent job in conveying the characters’ emotions as well as all the little things like making specific sounds such as demonstrating the swallowing hard as well as reading the text.

Good enough to move forward..

I wasn't sure if I'd like this SEAL series but I must say I really, really enjoyed it. I liked Thom's amnesia and his car accident when Ginnie found him nearly frozen in the barn, and the things he remembered and the things he didn't. I liked when Thom had to leave on assignment without telling Ginnie and she thought he'd just snuck off, no goodbye, no nothing, for 3 weeks. There were a few times I just had to laugh out loud at some of the things that were said. Drama and humor, love it.

There was sex in this story but it was NOT erotic, thank goodness. There was swearing and the F-bomb was used 6 times. There was only a HFN in this, but that was good enough.

As to the narration: All the mens voices were spectacular and his emotions were awesome BUT his womens voices were awful. He really needs to practice those.

Hot seal with amnesia

Thom is injured in s helicopter crash while deployed and struggles with some memory issues when he crashes his SUV while driving to visit his parents on Christmas eve. This lands him in Ginny's lap with amnesis again. She helps him. However, the next day, memory intact again, he is called back on duty, leaving her thinking he's abandoned her. This leads to an interesting storyline with them meeting again 3 weeks later.
A good tale that I enjoyed listening to and look forward to more in the series.

the narrator was okay. I loved the story but felt these were all short stories and didnt make it long enough to get caught up in the plot

Good Story, But Seemed Somewhat Rushed...

Yes, I did enjoyed listening to, "Sealed At Midnight" written by Cat Johnson although, felt Car didn't put her wholeself into this addition to the "Hot SEALS Series."

i felt in some areas the story was rushed; took a nosedive @ and left me with questions that I knew would never be answered.

Craig Jessen did an AMAZING job with the main characters and if given more time, the story probably would had a more solid ending.

I still recommend this 🎧book and I plan to continue to listen to more of the Hot SEALS Series!

SEALed by Midnight

Loved this book but was way too short lol. Talks about memory loss due to concussion because of deployment accident and then another a short time later due to serious car accident. Very well written and narrated
