Fantastic Foster

I really enjoyed this book, Lori Foster never fails. I am excited to see any spin offs from this book. I really enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns. This is a great example of Lori Foster's amazing talent.

Fun listen.

This is one of those books that has layers. It's a 'suspense' but if you're expecting Iris Johansen type book, you'll be disappointed. And I was, at first. Then I realized I was still listening because this book has layers of suspense and none of the important ones are the 'crime'-ish part of the book. I liked it. A lot.

Good Steamy Contemporary Romance

I'd been reading a lot of historical and wanted to come back to the modern age so I picked this one up. I really enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I'd not read this author before so I didn't know what to expect, I'm really glad I gave it a try. I'd listened to the narrator before (he reads the Black Daggar Brotherhood series) and I knew I'd like him. Jim Frangione just makes all the guys sound like sexy alpha males. sigh....

My kind of listen!

If you could sum up Run the Risk in three words, what would they be?

Deception, Death, Desire

Who was your favorite character and why?

Pepper, she is one tough lady.

Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?

Pepper. I always admire a strong woman.

Any additional comments?

It's worth your credit. This one is a keeper. I enjoyed it very much and if you agree with any of the previous reviews I have submitted then you're really going to like this one too.It has the element of a strong woman facing down danger and showing her man how a real woman can handle things.

Lori Delivers a Good One!

Logan and Pepper made this story sing. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between these two protagonists. The relationship between Pepper and her brother Rowdy Yates (every time I heard his name I kept thinking Clint Eastwood) had no one to rely on but each other. Rowdy and Pepper worked for one the most notorious players in the city, then they witness a murder of one of the cities prominent members sends them into hiding.
Logan manages to find Pepper and stakes her out and manages to get through her defenses. This story sucked me in quickly, I stayed invested in this story until I finished it in one day. Well worth a credit if you like murder, bad policemen, organized crime, and a sexy detective who is a real gentleman.

Bk1 of L.F. new series delivers a first class plot

Firstly, can I say that Lori Foster is an automatic download for me as I find her books both entertaining and brilliant.

This one is no exception, it's the start of Love Undercover series and what a great start it was. It has intrigue, mystery, secrets, suspicion and seduction and has you guessing right up 'til the end. Detective Logan is undercover to trap a witness to his best friend's murder by a gangster boss so seduces Pepper the sister of the witness but he gets much much more than he bargains for.

It has lots of interesting characters and, although it's not erotica, it has some 'action' between the sheets and I now have to wait until Spring 2013 when Reese's (his partners) story is revealed in Bare It All.

Worth a credit? If you like murder, mystery and all that ensues then you're gonna love this - it gets a YES from me.

Cop who couldn't keep it in his pants

Run the Risk was my first book by Lori Foster, who knows how to create extremely engaging characters. However, it took me a while to warm up to Logan, a cop who went undercover to find the person who murdered his best friend.

While I appreciated what Logan wanted to do, I thought his methods were slimy. Logan used an unsuspecting woman (Pepper) whose brother (Rowdy) was reported to have information on the murder. Sorry, but sex should not be used a weapon against an innocent person.

Luckily, I found Pepper and Rowdy to be much more likeable, as well as some of Logan's co-workers and family. Logan seemed to regret his cruelty, which I thought Pepper forgave much to fast, making the happy ending seem too rushed to me.

I would take a risk on Logan for sure

Any additional comments?

Logan Riske is a detective. His friend is the man that was murdered. He wants justice for his friend, but first needs to get to Rowdy Yates who has the only evidence out there. The fastest way to get to Rowdy is through his sister, so he goes undercover and moves into the apartment next door. His goal is to get to know her, so that he can find Rowdy and he can put the nightclub owner in jail.

To Logan’s surprise, Pepper (who goes by Sue) is an intriguing woman that he finds himself attracted to, even though she wears plane Jane clothes and on the outside seems dull. Pepper / Sue is definitely reserved, but there’s sparks that leaves Logan confused. He’s conflicted between his goal of using her to get to Rowdy and the feelings he is starting to develop for her.

The sexual tension is great as are the sex scenes. Lori always captures you from the beginning of a story and definitely help my intrigue till the very end. Loved it :)
