Best One in the Series So Far

Interesting well defined characters. Loved the narration. An entertaining light romance. Nothing to complain about due to a story with like able secondary characters. This series has been very enjoyable.

Make time to laugh

Where does Rumor Has It rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this is the best of the series...they are linked only by names of the characters, so you do not have to read in order. If you only try one book, get this one first. It starts out with tons of laughs, so do not be doing something that requires your concentration, or you will miss the wonderful humor. This story is good because our heroine has whit, guts and a saving heart. She has a sexy outlook which makes her beautiful inside and out.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rumor Has It?

a couple actually...when our hero gives the young boy a ride on his motorcycle, when thing one and thing two wake our hero up.

Have you listened to any of Karen White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have all of her attorneys series...which made me search out this series. Follow her reads as she gets what the author wants when humor is written in the story. Karen can make all the hero's just plain yummy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have not finished this listen as I write, but I wanted to share a great listen with others.
This one makes you just plain feel good...and that is hard to come by in many of the books
published.

Any additional comments?

I used a credit and will re listen again when I just want a good laugh

Adorable

Always a fun read with Jill Shalvis. Light and easy. Plus nobody does better romantic comedic narration than Karen White.

Love it when the gal gets her long time crush.

I LOVE it when the girl gets the guy she’s had a big crush on. Love it! And Jill Shalvis writes this romance trope well!

What do you get when you take a 2nd grade teacher and an ex-Special Ops soldier and put them together? A hot (not sweet!) romance in RUMOR HAS IT.

Everyone in Sunshine calls Kate sweet and it drives her nuts when Griffin, who happens to be her BFF’s big brother and her all time crush, calls her sweet. She doesn’t want Griffin to see her as sweet because if he does then nothing will happen between them. Griffin is a known bad boy when it comes to the ladies and after Kate has spent the last few years taking care of her dad and two younger siblings she wants a little something for herself. That being a hot night with Griffin because she knows he won’t stay in Sunshine for long. He’s only here for his little sister’s wedding after all.

Kate has been putting off going to California for a masters program she keeps getting invited to take part in. She’s a 2nd grade science teacher and she loves her job and would love to do the program. But she feels she has to stay in Sunshine to take care of her family. Her friends and family have been telling her to go, the program is only a year-long and they can manage without her. But Kate won’t listen.

Griffin is back home in Sunshine for the wedding between his little sister, Holly and his BFF Adam. He might be out of the military but he had jobs offers coming in and he will only be home for a week or two, tops. But then he runs into Katie but she’s not just his little sister’s BFF, she’s all grow up and calls herself Kate now.

Kate and Griffin have off the page chemistry. They are just what the others needs. Their HEA has a few bumps along the way and it was fun to take the ride with them. RUMOR HAS IT is now my 2nd favorite in the Animal Magnetism series by Shalvis.

Karen White continues to work her narration magic with the people of Sunshine, Idaho. Karen really does have the right voice, timing and sass to bring these fun heroines and heroes to audio book lovers.

First Thought when Finished: Rumor Has It is my favorite in the Animal Magnetism series so far.

Overall Thoughts:I loved how awkward Kate was and how guarded Griffin happened to be. This book just hit all my contemporary romance triggers and I enjoyed every minute of it. I also love that this book really delved into PTSD and how it can impact a person. I thought Jill tackled that with brilliance and didn't make it a handicap for Griffin. All around this was a great book!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by Karen White/Length 9 hrs and 17 mins.

I enjoy Karen's narration of the Animal Magnetism series. I have enjoyed every one and look forward to the next one! I think she a great match with Jill's writing.

Great, sweet, hot!

I enjoy these stories, very sweet and lots of fun. enjoy seeing the previous characters as well. I will say, though this book was not short I could have used some more depth into their relationship, there was a little drama, but nothing major. I enjoyed it and will listen again (probably) and have enjoyed this series.

Rumor Has It

Shalvis never fails to make me laugh while creating romance that lasts. This return to her Animal Magnetism series captured me heart and soul. The picturesque scenery that she creates for the area is the perfect backdrop for this emotional, at times turbulent, story that really packs a punch.

Since we first met Griffin and Kate they’ve both called to me in different ways. Kate’s the kind of girl that I find easy to relate to. I can understand being shy, staying at home, and having way too much on your plate. Completely the opposite, Griffin’s the outgoing hero that many a gal drools over. Yet we also get hints at the emotions underneath. Not only did I enjoy getting to know these two better, their personalities really drew me in, but I also loved them as a couple. They’re so real without being too perfect.

All in all, this was a compelling, heartfelt novel that I didn’t want to put down. Shalvis has really created a winner here.

Yes, because Karen White does a fantastic job reading the story. Plus, the story is a lot of fun to listen.

Which character – as performed by Karen White – was your favorite?

I love how she does Kate's voice, because you can actually hear the timid shy person Kate Evans is.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was laughing and crying, but it wouldn't be a Jill Shalvis book if my emotions were everywhere.
