Enjoyable storyline, terrible female narrator

Really enjoyed the storyline and the male narration (Joe Hempel) was well done. However, the female narrator (Laurel Schroeder) was horrendous! Her intonation and cadence was SO extremely distracting! She has that cadence that ends on a high, questioning note after every single sentence... It's annoying and aggravating as it totally detracts from the experience and even the actual story. It's enough for me to even consider skipping the rest of the trilogy!

Good story, horrible narration.

The story was good, and I probably would have liked it more had it been narrated by another female. The way she spoke did nothing for the story. I even tried speeding up the audio to help with the narration, and it did not do any good. I probably won't listen to another book in this series with this same narrator.

Simple writing, inexperienced narrator, returning

The plot was so ridiculously simple I laughed. That's after I deeply, negatively sighed over purchasing another book with this female narrator. The female narrator drops off the sound at the end of her sentences. She's weirdly breathy and it grates on my nerves. I actually got excited when the male started speaking but quickly realized he was reading as if this was one of his first audiobooks... kinda sad as this series oddly has great reviews. I'm returning this and making a note not to purchase from the author or anything with this narrator.

*note, I enjoy urban fantasy, reverse harem, romance, Jim Butcher and much more - so the idea of the plot and whether or not it was YA has no bearing upon my review.

Horrible Narration!

I am quite interested in this story but I cannot stand the drawn out sounds at the end of every freaking word for the female voice and there is no difference between the guys voices. It's hard to track the story when there are only 2 different voices for 6 characters!
I wasted a credit! I will not finish this book.

Hated the girl who narrated it

Story was super slow, dragged out so much, guy was a great, girl was not. I would get the second book just to see if the story progressed better than in this book, but im seriously in no rush to get it.
