Publisher's Summary

This Cinderella didn't plan on a prince...

Kat MacTaggart is a girl who has a plan for everything - including her holiday ski trip to Monterra with her best friend. Everything is going according to plan until she finds herself careening out of control down a mountainside and being rescued by a guy who looks like Superman's hotter Italian cousin.

HRH Prince Nico is intrigued by the woman he saved on the slopes and her refusal to date him. He offers Kat a deal - let him show her his country and he'll pay her to write articles that will help Monterra's tourism industry. Kat agrees, but given her past and lingering distrust of men, she has one condition - absolutely no kissing.

Thanks to the claims of a jealous British noblewoman and the schemes of a meddling paparazzo, Kat's rule doesn't seem to be a problem at first. But the more Kat gets to know Nico and the people around him, the harder it is to remember her keep-your-distance plan. Should she stick to it or risk everything for a chance at happily ever after?

A new Princess Diaries

I really enjoyed the story. Thought that the Narrator made Nico sound a little like Dracula but I was impressed with her abilities overall.

😄💕

This is such a great story. I was really happy to see that it was finally released on Audible. I hope more titles from this author are released on Audible soon.

I have read several of the Royals of Monterra Kindle Worlds stories. Some are almost as good as Ms. Wilson's original works and I am hoping that some are released on Audible as well.

Very, very sweet story

No surprises in this sweet Cinderella-esque story. Though I am typically drawn to a steamy romance, it is occasionally nice to break from the norm and listen to/read a lovely story sans sexual encounters. Christians would be comfortable with it, and be pleased, as well, with the religious aspect as it is inclusive of morals and the royal family’s devotion to the church. There are a few villains, but only minor angst.

Royal Date is a heartwarming story and so very apropos for the Christmas holidays.

Surpsingly pleasant

I’m not a fan of sappy romances. I was worried after reading the intro that this is what the book would be. I ended up really enjoying the book. It was a fairytale with a twist of reality. Bringing in more deep storylines made it seem less like the typical “poor girl falls in love with a prince” and more of an emotional story.

Magical, funny, & light hearted happily ever after

This is a fantastic modern day fairy tale from start to finish. Kat is a very real, lovable character with a good heart, and Nikko is the equally fleshed out, exceptionally charming Prince. The story is believable and magical at the same time. You will be laughing and smiling all the way through it.

Sariah is an excellent storyteller, weaving just the right amount of mystery into a heartwarming tale that is hard to put down. Her descriptions are fantastic, drawing you into a world that fills your imagination. It's not all hearts and roses, and some serious, difficult themes are explored briefly, but are handled maturely and do not dominate the narrative.

Brittany, the narrator, does an excellent job. Nearly all of the voices are distinct and easily recognizable. Her voice fills with the correct emotions the characters are feeling in any given scene, and she effortlessly transitions between the southern twang of Kat's best friend Lemon, the sultry Italian accents of the Monterran royal family, and the steady heartland American of Kat's own voice.

On an occasion or two, I was unsure of who was speaking until clarified by further context, but these instances are infrequent and brief, and do not detract from the overall quality of the narration.

Overall, I cannot recommend this story and performance highly enough. It is simply superb. If you enjoy romance stories, fairytales, or happily ever afters, you will enjoy this story. If you have read the novel and enjoyed it (as I have), this performance will only add to your affection for it.
