Publisher's Summary

Roth Masters is a protector to the bone. Driven by the losses of his past, he fights side-by-side with Hell Squad to protect the human survivors of the alien invasion. As leader of Squad Nine, he and his team are known for their perfect timing in a firefight. But Roth knows they need more intel on the raptor invaders - something to turn the tide of the battle. And he knows the woman he rescued from an alien facility is hiding secrets he desperately wants to uncover.

Former Coalition Central Intelligence Agent Avery Stillman is still adjusting to her new life. Left with terrible gaps in her memory, she has vague recollections of failed negotiations with the aliens, the invasion, and after that...nothing. Until a hard-bodied soldier pulled her from a tank in an alien lab. Now she's trying desperately to remember, to help fight back, and also battling the crazy attraction to the man who keeps pushing her for things she can't remember.

Soon Roth finds himself torn between his duty and keeping the strong woman he's falling for safe. As the pair head into alien territory to investigate, they are attacked and crash land alone, far from base. They have to work together to survive the aliens, but when Avery finally remembers everything...her secrets could annihilate all they hold dear.

Hell Squad, Volume 5 doen't disappiont

Love this series! With each book, the story becomes more complex and involved, building the back story of the invasion a bit at a time. Hell Squad makes more of a guest appearance here and the story revolves around Roth, head of squad 9 (LOVE the idea of an all female squad with a couple of token men) and Avery, a new character, briefly mentioned in a previous book.
Written with Ms. Hackett's wonderful style and talent, ROTH is a definite hit and must read in this genre. Great narration by Jeffrey Kafer & Samantha Cook who bring the action and the characters to life

Jeff K and Sam Cook Narration perfection

The Narrators have really stepped into their groove for the Hell Squad Series. This was the first time that they absolutely nailed the performance for Book #5 with Roth and Avery. Great narration, great Characters, great Writing. Another Anna Hackett Success.

Another hit for Hackett

In the middle of an alien apocalypse, humans need all the information they can get to continue the fight for survival. Roth Masters, leader of Squad Nine, knows where to find some possibly vital information - Avery Stillman, a former CCA agent who had contact with the aliens prior to the full invasion. One problem? Roth and his team only recently rescued her from being an alien captive and she appears to have no memory of that crucial time. Roth is convinced she knows more and just can't seem to leave her alone.

Sparks fly whenever these two interact and it is only a matter of time before that intensity translates into heated embraces. Only time will tell if this is a fleeting feeling or the real deal.

Read on to find out if Avery is able to recover her memories and help Roth and the rest of the base gain an advantage against the aliens before the threat of another attack arrives on their doorstep. One that has origins a little closer to home than expected.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to catching up with the rest of the Squad stories I've missed.
