Roping Your Heart

I really enjoyed this installment in the series.
I am still not a big fan of the narrations he sounds just too old for the characters.

I liked that Cat wasn’t overly dramatic about her past, it was just what it was and she was moving on from it.

I liked Blake for the most part, there was one scene with a 16 yr old boy he kicked out of his house it just left a bad taste in my mouth like it was just unnecessary. Even being a single father and seeing that they were actually studying it was just too much. But say la vee, the rest of the book was enjoyable.

Loved this Book

I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my own review. this was a heartwarming book and the ending was just outstanding. I am so glad that this author chose to give even the villain an HEA. Because even though people are sometimes bad they can change with the right motivation. This story is well worth the listen and the narrator was great. Love lost then found again and a child gets her happiness also.

Roping Your Heart

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes.

Its a sweet second chance romance. I loved both characters, I understood both of them, and as much as I wanted them to be together, I admired Cat for having the courage to leave and try to built a life outside of the small town she grew up in.

Blake also moved on. He got married and divorced and has a beautiful daughter. He also has a bitchy ex (as all male characters seem to have).

Have you listened to any of David Quimby and David Quimby ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great narration, brings the sweetness of the story and the small town atmosphere to life.

Love the Rodeo!

Would you consider the audio edition of Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall to be better than the print version?

I think I would prefer the e-book version more in this particular book. The narrator did a good performance, but didn't have enough differentiation on the character voices.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall?

I loved it when Blake heard from his ex-wife (Sally) that she thought Demi would be better off living with him. Giving up legal custody was huge. Also, I loved the fact that Sally wanted to thank Kat for her support.

What does David Quimby and David Quimby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

David Quimby did a good performance, but I wasn't sure if he was the right fit for this book. His voice is calming, but doesn't stretch enough for all of the various characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The story is very good and would be awesome to listen to in one sitting.

Good story and enjoyed listening

This was a good story and I enjoyed listening to this book and enjoyed the narrator. This story has it all hot hot hot and also the bitter sweet love that never dies. There is also a choice between love and being a father. Will he pick love yes but which kind old flame or parent love for his child read and find out.

Great!

This was a really enjoyable second chance romance with a single dad. This story had great character development and fantastic chemistry between the main characters. The narrator did an amazing job and I can't wait to listen to more by this narrator.

Second chance romance

A great story of second chances! Cheyenne McCray did an excellent job depicting the emotions and difficult situations of pasts that separated a great love. I'm always a bit hesitant of stories involving custody battles but am glad for the HEA for everyone.
David Quimby is a fantastic narrator who never disappoints!

Love comes full circle at 4-H Ranch

*Free Audible credit received for an honest review*

Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall is the second chance romance story between Blake McBride and Cat Hayden.
Their love story began 19 years before the start of this story, back when the two were just young high school kids in love. Cat always had dreams of getting out of the small town she grew up in and away from her abusive, alcoholic parents. Blake McBride did not share her wanderlust and wanted to remain in town and work the ranch. A simple life with his high school sweetheart and true love was his hearts desire. Alas; Cat made the tough call to sprout her wings and fly. A tragic accident many years earlier may have altered Cat's appearance and career plans, but her experience as a barrel racer and an ailing grandmother brings her back to the small town she ran from and smack dab into Blake McBride's life once again. It is obvious right from the start that still waters run very deep and Cat and Blake are quite certainly still madly in love with one another. The question is...what do they plan to do about it this time? And who will get in their way?
While 19 years may not have changed their feelings for one another, the circumstances of their lives have changed quite a bit. Blake has been married & divorced, and is now the single father to a fourteen year old daughter (Demi). He also has a very selfish, deceitful and conniving ex-wife to contend with. Sally does not plan to make anything easy for Blake or Cat. Will she cause just enough trouble to keep true love at bay? Will Demi do everything in her power to rekindle the relationship between Sally and Blake, or will she see the light in her father's eyes that only shines for Cat?

This story is so multi-faceted that it really truly surprised me. Cheyenne McCray has written a story with so many layers and subplots happening that I could not resist feeling captivated. It was pure enjoyment! I am an absolute sucker for a real good guy which Blake most definitely is. Add to that my weakness for cowboy romance, single dad romance, and second chance romances and you've got yourself the makings of the perfect country romance story.
While the chemistry between Blake and Cat is undeniable, and they definitely generated some heat, this is not a sex, sex, sex, on every page storyline. It's about the feels and the journey of two people who've always held each other's hearts.
I loved it and hope you will too!

Enjoyable Listen!

I loved this second chance story of childhood sweethearts who break up as teenagers. They reconnect many years later, older, wiser and knowing what they want in a life partner and finding it in each other.

This story has parts that make it a difficult listen at times. It deals with betrayal and the tearing apart of a family. I’m truly amazed how much detail was packed into this 5 ½ hour audiobook.

Roping Your Heart is narrated by David Quimby and I enjoyed his cowboy drawl. He also did a wonderful job voicing all the characters, no matter what gender.

This was my first listen for the author Cheyenne McCray, but it won’t be my last. She writes with emotion and you grow to care about the characters she pens.

This audiobook was given to me at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review, thanks, Audiobook Boom!

Beautiful Story

Cat, Blake and Demi utterly steal the heart. This is an incredibly sweet story! I was so upset with Blake's ex-wife, but we also get to learn about forgiveness too in this book. The narration is really solid, and kept me engrossed in a well written book. Beautiful second chance at love, and really appreciating the people we have in our life. This is a voluntary review of an audiobook gifted. I truly loved this book. It certainly left me feeling very positive. Highly enjoyable and recommend!
