Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Vivian Arend. Second chances are the sweetest, and the hottest.

It took a spectacularly embarrassing break-up to knock Steve Moonshine Coleman off his lazy butt. In the 10 months since that night he's changed his ways. Now that Melody's back in town, it's time for this sweet-talking cowboy to convince her to get back in the saddle with him.

A return to her veterinary position in Rocky Mountain House was always in the cards for Melody Langley. Getting back together with Steve? Never part of the plan. He had lots of potential but zero ambition, and there's no way she'll accept anything less than a man who can keep up with her, in and out of bed.

But the new-and-improved cowboy is impossible to resist, so Melody issues a challenge: Three months to prove he's reformed. three months of Steve orchestrating one sexual indulgence after another. They're wicked distractions from the old boys' club Melody faces at work, and Steve's growing responsibilities.

He's got one shot to prove with more than words what's in his heart and soul.

Warning: 50 percent less angst, twice as much filthy-talking, dirty-daring cowboy. Get ready for a whole lot of make-your-knees-weak wooing from a man intent on proving he's got what it takes, and the woman ready to push him way past his limits.

awesome

this was a wonderful story. it is a great combo between women's lib and caveman. where I am for alot of women lib issues there is allot I am against. I think that vivian balances it out quiet well. I agree with how she handled the issues that came up. I also loved howshe showed how things can be worked out when we communicate with each other. you have to love the will of family. each book in this series gets better and better. I love it can't wait for the next book.

Great addition to the series.

This book has a real good plot that had me hooked from the beginning to end.
There’s drama action romance with plenty of heat to it and characters that’s well
suited to each other.
The narrator did a brilliant job of bringing all characters alive and was quite pleasant
on the ears.

Not So Vanilla

4.5 stars - Another great addition to the Coleman family series! I really like the characters, the relationship building, and general good times. The fact that these two really have the thermostat tapping out is just a great side effect.

This is a sweet and fun second chance for Stephen "Steve" Coleman with the one he let get away, Melody Langley. I love how she drops a challenge, and Steve literally and figuratively rises to the occasion! It's as fun as it is hot. OK, fine, it's a LOT HOTTER! 🔥🎉

I love the friendly ribbing and general comradery between them and their friends and Steve's very loud, very nosy family, extended and immediate. It leads to plenty of laughs and good times.

There's also another not-so-great encounter with Ben Coleman. In addition to that, Melody has to contend with a cantankerous co-worker who's feeling a bit hurt and some potentially sexist ranchers who don't want to work with her. I like how she stands up for herself. It gets even more interesting when Steve shows his support for her.

I read along as I listened to the audio book. The narrator is Tatiana Sokolov. I continue to like her.

Nice story

Another nice story in the series. I enjoyed the book, though I did have to struggle with some of it. It didn't capture me as much as some of the others, this almost seemed like more of a fluff piece. As always, I did enjoy the characters and the men are so devoted and loving it makes me a bit envious! I would have to put an adult content warning on here, so don't be taken by surprise at the "non vanilla" intimate parts. Not my favorite, but worth listening to, to keep up with the characters and storylines.

A Realistic Look At Relationships

Vivian Arend does it again with the latest installment in her Six Pack Ranch series. It has a hot cowboy, a beautiful veterinarian, easy to visualize scenery, and a good plot focusing on the Moonshine branch of the Coleman clan.

It’s the story of two people who, after spending two years together, break up and go their separate ways. After spending a year apart, they re-evaluate what they both want and basically realize it’s each other, just the mature versions they’ve grown into.

There’s a lot of humor, good supporting characters and, those familiar with the previous books in the series, good times reuniting with the Coleman gang.

Low angst. Heavy on the “non-vanilla” sex (part of the 3-month trial period requirements put forth by Melanie to Steve).

Narrator continues to do an excellent job. My only wish is that the author had a male narrator for the male parts, duet would be even better. Listening to hot and heavy sex scenes without it isn’t as satisfying.

I love this couple!

I absolutely loved this second chance. Steve changed his juvenile ways after Melody left town for some training so he can win her back.
Loved Melody and her independence.
Loved all the sexy times.

A standalone mostly bit can tell its part of a series and probably even better if you know all the characters from previous books.

Still found Maddy a bit annoying and selfish.

AUDIBLE
Narration is good.
Still found Maddy a bit annoying and selfish.
Letting Steve do all the proving in their relationship.
Though I liked the way she stood up to those misogynistic ranchers.
The cougar scene was sad though.
BOOK REVIEW
Another lovely read in this series.
Having a second chance to prove he has matured to the woman he lost makes Steve one happy cowboy.
Maddy comes back to become a part of the Rocky Mountain Animal Clinic but faces misogynistic behaviour from some of the ranchers.
Getting back together with Steve was not on her list of things to do but she cannot help falling for the more mature man.
I wasn't 100% a fan of Maddy, only because I felt Steve had to do way more of the proving things and Maddy coasted along without having to put in too much effort.
Lovely spending time with all of these people again.

Great, enjoyable story

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved Steve and Melody. They have a history together and now that Melody is coming back to town to settle in as the new Vet just about a year later, Steve gets his second chance and the opportunity to show her that he has changed, for the better, and he wants a second chance. I really enjoyed watching these two figure things out and make a go at a more serious and legitimate relationship. They had to support each other and figure out exactly what that meant for the two of them. Melody’s boss takes off for a 6 week vacation and puts her in charge of the large animal side of the practice which is definitely rubbing some of the ranchers wrong. They don’t like and they make it known and difficult for her. I enjoyed watching Steve step up for Melody and show her that he could support her. They had a little growing room though and how best to protect and deal with the rude ranchers. This story was great and I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for more in the series.
The narrator did a fantastic job with the characters and the story and bringing it to life.
