Publisher's summary

Candace Andrews has had enough of pleasing others. In an act of birthday rebellion, she sets out to please herself - by walking into the tattoo parlor owned by her cousin's ex-boyfriend. All she wants is a little ink, and Brian's just the guy to give it to her. As soon as she submits to his masterful hands, though, the forbidden attraction she's always felt for him resurfaces...and she realizes the devilishly sexy artist could give her so much more.

Sweet, innocent Candace is the last person Brian expected to see again. She's everything he's not, and her family despises him. He doesn't need the hassle, but he needs her, and this time no one is taking her away. Not even those who threaten to make his life a living hell.

Backed into a corner, Candace faces the worst kind of choice: Cave in to those who think Brian is a living nightmare...or hold her ground and risk it all for the one man who rocks her world.

Alright Story/Bad Voice Over

The overall story/writing is decent, but the actress/voice-over made me cringe so many times when she did the guys' lines, almost to the point where I didn't finish it. From here on out I think I'll only buy audio books in this genre that have both male and female voices lol

Pretty good addition to the series

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good book. Brian is great and I was very happy to see him get his book. I liked Candace but, for me, she was not all she could have been.

Candace has grown up in a very sheltered life. She is in college and is still under her parents control. She loves her family but they tend to treat her badly (a lot) and don't really care what she wants. She knew Brian from when he was dating her cousin and has loved him since then. When her 23rd birthday comes around, she decides to get a tattoo (in a place no one would see) in an act of rebellion. She knows if she's going to get tattooed then Brian has to be the one to do it and goes to see him for the first time since he split with her cousin.

Brian is a tattoo artist but also has his own shop and employs a number of other artists. He doesn't always get the respect he should because he's always been the black sheep of the family but his family loves him and is supportive. He does have a bit of a complex though and doesn't think he's good enough for someone like Candace. He felt deeply for her even when he was dating her cousin but never went after her because he didn't think he was good enough. When she shows up at his shop for a birthday tattoo, he takes it as fate and exchanges numbers with her.

Candace is innocent (I mean totally) and it shocks Brian and makes him take things slowly with her. They spend some time together but very quickly, some issues arise that cause difficulties for their relationship. Things don't look good and they split almost as soon as they were together. There are other issues in Candace's life, mostly having to do with her horrible family (i.e. a mother and brother that want to set her up with a man that tried to date rape her...even after she told them about it). Right after a big blowout with her family, Candace and Brian see each other. He's headed out of town for a music festival and invites her along. In a desperate move to leave her troubles behind and be with the man she loves, she drops everything (including a rather important family obligation) and goes with him. Things are wonderful on the trip and they comes back together and ready to face the storm of her family's disapproval.

Things seem to be looking good but, when the first hurdle arises, Candace doesn't hold up very well. Candace's brother vandalizes Brian's business and tried to cause other problems for him. Candace feels to blame for the problems Brian is going through so she freaks and asks him for time and some space. He unhappily gives it to her but keeps in touch. She misses him but keeps him hanging for quite a while. In the end, Candace was the weak link in the story for me because she couldn't choose between Brian and her family. Her family treated her badly and Brian horribly but yet she wasn't with him because of them. By the end it seemed she'd pretty much given up on being with Brian and was letting them win. Fortunately for her (and us), Brian wasn't willing to give up so easily and, after he gets sick of being patient with her, he finds a way to get around her family so they can be together. Brian (deservedly) and Candace (not so deservedly IMO) end with a nice HEA.

I enjoyed this story. I loved Brian, he's hot, patient and sweet but still a bad boy that can handle things when needed. I liked Candace for the most part but she was a little to "woe is me" at times for my taste and wished she would have shown a little more backbone. Regardless I still liked the story and will be reading the next in the series. I'd recommend this story. :)

Immature characters and storyline

I did finish the story, however, at times it was hard. The immaturity of the characters and the storyline was sometimes hard to get past. perhaps it's a better story for a very, very, young adult.

It had its SMEXY moments!!

Rock Me is book two in the Ross Siblings series. I gave this story four stars because it was sexy as hell, especially with the "tatted-up" alpha-male named Brian. This was a well written story about Candace and Brian who are from two different worlds. She's the good girl whose parents dictate/control her life and he's the bad boy who owns a Tattoo Parlor. Candace fell hard for Brian, even when he was technically her cousin's boyfriend years back. She knows her family would flip if she was seeing him, but she can't seem to stay away.
The romance is HOT! I mean SMOKING HOT!! He, of course is shocked at her virginal status which puts his feelings at a whole new level, and she's pushing hard to rectify that its just a little bump in the road!! They move fast, but Brian slows it down a bit... making it special for her... which makes it mind blowing for him.. and they can't help but fall hard for each other. She has to decide whether she’s willing to risk being with this man she loves or giving him up forever. Her snobbish family is willing to disown her if she doesn't stay away from him. I have to say that Candace got on my nerves A LOT toward the end, but we get our HEA so it's all good! So far, I think I actually liked this book better than the first book of this series.

Shortchanged

I have read the book and absolutely love it. I bought audio and I just can’t. The narrator doesn’t do the book justice. I couldn’t get past the second chapter. Her voice may very well be great for other books but for me, and this book, she wasn’t it. Even though I did listen to the preview, I gave it a try. Nope. Can’t do it, and I’m sad about that. I work so much now that listening to books is the only chance I have to indulge and really like to hear books I’ve read. Oh well. On to something else.

Pleasantly Pleased

Really enjoyed this story between Brian and Chelsea. Both searching for acceptance and finding it in each other. Wasn't expecting it to kind of end with it open ended.

Good

I liked it but it had a bit too much drama and angst from the female character.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Plenty of dialogues
Characters is well developed but not the best I’ve experienced

Narrator:
Clear pronunciation but I was not satisfied with her performance with the male voice.

4 stars overall

Romance package worthy listen!

I downloaded this story as part of my romance package. I did not listen to book one but am going to in hopes makes this one better.
The story was good, predictable, but let’s face it, hot tattooed bad boys can get away with it! Lmao
What’s good;
Sexy tattooed bad boy
A “3 1/2” sex scenes on 1-5 scale
Cool side characters I’d like explore
Potential new stories
What’s not so good;
The narrator (I sped up to 1.5 to make it tolerable)
Plot could’ve explored more avenues, it didn’t give much background on my focus which was the sexy hot bad boy
The heroine was forgettable

With all that it was at times really good and others just meh. Some hot and sexy scenes were just that, but then others were just...meh. However I did finish and glad I did. I can’t help feeling a better narration would have me giving this a solid 4 stars. Sometimes mindless listens are consuming when the voice is right!

Narration was horrible!!! Don’t try it!

I should have read the audible reviews for this one. It was recommended to me by a friend, but she read it. The narration makes me want to stab someone! It is so horrific! I could not finish. Im going to try reading the rest and pray I like the story. So far the overall story isn’t bad, but the tone the narrator sets absolutely ruins it!

So sweet and romantic

I loved this more than the first book! It was super romantic, and I couldn't put it down! The entire time I was listening to this I kept cheering for the main characters and hoping everything would work out in the end.
