Publisher's summary

As a Rock Chick, Shirleen Jackson lived through all the kidnappings and explosions. Along the way, she also watched the dramatic love stories that came with those rides unfold.

But long ago, Shirleen made her choice. It affected who she was and would always be. She decided to settle for what she had and not want more. She had good friends. She was raising two fine young men who weren't hers, but she loved them anyway. She was good.

And then Moses Richardson crashed into her life, literally...and deliberately. Moses has different ideas about Shirleen. He's more interested in the Shirleen of now, mostly because she's interesting. And funny. And loyal. Smart. Beautiful.

But Moses has a big challenge on his hands.

He has to convince Shirleen of all that.

And then convince her she deserves to have more.

ughhhh!! Why why why?

The narrator is a good narrator and would have been great had she not been set up for failure from the very beginning. I've listened to all of the books and Shirleen has a voice, a life, a persona and unfortunately this book did not deliver. I felt as though I was listening to a stranger’s story. There just weren't the same ”ooo eee’s” that told me I was back with the group I loved.

Bring Susannah Jones Back!!!!

What did you love best about Rock Chick Reborn?

Yes!
I loved Shirleen's HEA

What did you like best about this story?

Her man Moses and the Hot Bunches' meddling.

What didn’t you like about Nicole Small’s performance?

When I think of Rock Chick series my mind automatically remembers the stories with Susannah Jones' narration.

I can not think Rock Chick without the fabulous Susannah Jones!

Nicole Small seems a good narrator but she is just not right for the Rock Chick

5++ Rock Chick Reborn Stars

Oh, my word! To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought about getting Shirleen’s story. I would have that Darius or Rome or Sniff.

So this not only blew me away but then when I started to listen I was sucked in. Shirleen was always there for all the other rock chick’s so getting inside her head was a trip to say the very least.

I knew she had a hard past but reading about it and seeing her put herself last because of it kind of broke my heart. I was so intrigued by Moses he was totally made to love and support Shirleen.

Oh, the tears yep I totally had some and I wasn’t expecting too but damn the whole part with Roma and Sniff gosh I am invested in those boys from the very first time we were introduced to them. You can’t help but want them to succeed.

Overall I loved this book. Did it take getting used to a new narrator yes, only because I have Shirleen’s voice in my head from the other Rock Chick book’s. But once I just live and let live I can see why Nicole Small’s was just right for Shirleen’s voice. :) Also, her man voices... Perfection!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Some change isn't good.

I loved this book, the only thing I struggled with were the voices of the Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch. They sounded as if they were from Jersey not Colorado or Indiana.

Don't waste your $$

What disappointed you about Rock Chick Reborn?

I love the Rock Chick. But Rock Chick Reborn -What happened to Shirleen? Did all those appletini's transform her personality? She has been reborn 3 years in the future, and she talks and acts like she's 100yrs old.

What do you think your next listen will be?

?

What didn’t you like about Nicole Small’s performance?

The voice was flat and monotone. Shirleen spends most of the book talking to herself. After a while it's just all runs together blah blah blah blah blah blah

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment. Maybe if I read the book instead of listened -NO it would still be a waste of $

Any additional comments?

Don't waste your money. This isn't really a rock chick story. The girls only appear 1 time. There is no drama or adventure. This is a story of Shirleen feeling sorry for herself.

Awe Shirleen's story is so sweet! I was curious if hers would be full of drama but it wasn't at all. I loved hearing about the boys at home with her and her falling in love. The ending was perfect! She got exactly what she deserved and that was to see those boys grow up to be amazing men, fall in love and to be a happy family! Perfect ending!

The narration for this book was different and I loved it! She was perfect for Shirleen and even better for all the men!

Narration made it unlistenable

If ever there were an example of how the right narrator makes - or breaks - a book this is it. The characters were unrecognizable from their former Susannah Jones glory, and most of the time I had a hard time distinguishing who was speaking. Even male and female voices were hard to differentiate. There was probably a decent story in there somewhere, but it wasn't worth working so hard to try to find it.

As always KA!!!

Thank you KA for Shirleen's story. I was so surprised to see Reborn. Loved Moses, Rome and Sniff. Can't wait for Darius' story. Nicole was good and I look forward to more of her work but I did sorta miss the original narrator.

Rock Chick Reborn

Shirleen finally found her happily ever after! Who would have thought it would have been with the hot guy who ran into her shopping cart in King Super but he it a big hunk of gorgeous. He was checked out by Lee and the hot bunch and deemed worthy and even though she is not going to call him, even though Moses bought her roses and gave her his number, Lee and the Rock Chicks did their thing and set her up on a blind date and all bets are off. These two were perfect. From the first date and kiss on the front stoop to the phone calls, it was perfect. Make sure you read/listen all the way to the epilogue (I was listening to this finish up on the checkout line and nearly burst into tears it was so good!) you don't want to miss a beat.
