Exciting Conclusion

Reprisal picks up where Contrite (Book 1) left off and I advise listening to the previous book first. Without giving away anything, there are some major plot twists that I didn't see coming. The twisted drama finally ends for Clove in a very unexpected fashion. This was a very satisfying follow up and worth the listen. Kelley Hazen as narrator was terrific once again. I really enjoyed Reprisal: Contrite, Book 2 and would recommend it.

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very intriguing. This book finishes the story very well. It is as twisted as the first book with just as much suspense. The characters are still just as interesting as in the first book and compliment the story well. Well worth listening too.

Wow !! Mind Bending !!

How do you find the one kernel of truth in a series of lies? That's the task of Clove Galloway .. This was a very good read that kept me in suspense from beginning to an end. With a complexity of characters, the author did a great job in bringing all the pieces together in this twisted drama... I hope there are more exciting adventures to come in this terrific series.

Great Listen!!! Full of Twists

I loved how this book tied up the first one. I was so lucky to listen to this book consecutively with Contrite. I thought Kelley Hazen did an excellent job in distinguishing the various character voices and put so much emotion into it. I thought the first book had unexpected twists, and this one had more. I do not like giving away spoilers in my review, and with that said, I suggest listening to to Contrite first and then finish with Reprisal to get the full story. What a story it is! I was provided with this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by both the author and narrator.

EXCELLENT FOLLOW UP

I listened to the first book in all at once. This book two was not exactly a departure but because its presented from each character's point of view it gave me more time to think about how they all were feeling. Unexpected events take place, lots of surprises just like the first one. I enjoyed these two books a lot and would highly recommend them.

Definitely better than book 1

Book 2 of the series is definitely better than book 1 and I'd give it 3.5 stars for the story, really.

I liked the criminal part a lot - it's full of suspense, undercurrent emotions and psychological games. There is an unexpected twist, when all the plotting and betrayal comes out into light and we find out who the real Manipulator was, and that's a great plus from me. The "romantic" part is still a bit repetitive, though luckily this time there aren't too many sex scenes... which is good, as the book and its plot are more conscise and logical now. I also liked the introduction of multiple points of view; letting Clove, Turner, Zach and Trent tell the story from their perspectives added dynamics to the pot.

Narration by Ms Hazen is as usual at least good, often very good and at points just excellent. She makes the characters really come to life and sound true, especially in their inner monologues parts.

When reviewing book one I confessed I would probably skip part 2 if I hadn't promised to review it - I'm glad I didn't as "Reprisal" really is much better than "Contrite".

GREAT FOLLOW UP

Solid book two and ending to the series. You need to read Book One to get the whole thing.
There are lots of plot twists and surprises for the characters and the listener. You get a good feel for everyone, not just Clove this time, as book one is more from primarily her perspective. This series is an unusual premise that comes to its conclusion in an unusual and unexpected way. It kept me listening. I didn't want to stop until I found out what was going to happen. That's what I expect from a good story.

GREAT 2nd BOOK

This is an exciting follow up. Surprising things happen, you don't expect. You see Clove's maturity and how the events change her. You get see what everyone is thinking. It's hard to write too much without giving away. I loved this combo. It's an unusual plot and the writer takes you on a ride.

Not for me

I have tried multiple times to listen to this book. I made it to the first hour and twenty minutes when the erotica began. The plot was interesting, but I couldn't get past the graphic sexual content. I am sure if the listener likes that genre they would enjoy the book. I'm not one of them.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Kelley Hazen always gives her best.
