Publisher's Summary

Two lonely hearts.

Just once, she'd like to be someone's first choice. She is strong-willed and spunky, but she is left picking up the pieces from her ex's lies and manipulations and daydreaming about taking a scalpel to his scrotum.

Flying under the radar is what he does best. He is laid back and loyal, but he wants the most off-limits woman in his world, and nothing will ever make that a reality.

An arrangement of mutual benefit.

Two months, four dates. Five, if things go well. Five at the most. But possibly six. Definitely no more than six dates.

Only the appearance of a romantic relationship is required, and they expect nothing more from their time together. There will be none of those benefits involved.

One wild weekend.

After waking up in bed together - very naked and even more hungover - the terms and conditions of their arrangement no longer apply. Now they're faced with something riskier than exposing their fake relationship: letting go of the past and zipping up the future. Some things have to fall apart before they can be put back together.

Sweet as Honeybee

love Riley. Always have. He was a great contradiction. Sexy, big, fit, sweet, boyish, and complete klutz.

Always walking around with his hair a mess, his close with food or coffee stains, shoes untied, and his pants unzipped.

But when he meets Alex, a doctor who works with his brother-in-law, Nick, he becomes the fun, sexy man any girl would want.

I loved he and Alex's story. I got why she was apprehensive with him, every time she learned more about Riley and what brought him to her and their arrangement. I got her past with her family. I understood her drive to do everything she could to prove I was worthy in some way.

I loved all the nicknames he gave her and how sweet they were.

It was definitely what I've grown to love about Kate's storytelling. Yay!

Riley and Honeybee

I read this book back in May and could not wait for the audio Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox are my favorite narrators. Hearing the audio for Preservation made me laugh and cry just like the book. These two narrators are perfect together. They never disappoint and always bring there all in their performances.

Riley deserves better

I love the character of Riley, just plain delightful. Alex, on the other hand, is possibly one of the most immature, self-centered and annoying women in the Walsh series. She whines, stomps and is generally unpleasant, all the while is oblivious to how her actions/reactions leave her unhappy and alone. There's a reason she isn't "first" and it has nothing to do with her birth order. Riley has overcome much worse and still manages to remain non-judgemental, affectionate and amusing. I just wish his love interest had been better written.

Wonderful Series

Where does Preservation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved this series. I have another 15 minutes to go and am sorry it is over. I loved the characters, the story, the writing and the narrators! I will definitely read (listen to) more from this author and these narrators.

Great story, but the narrations are awful

I love the story, but this book was very hard for me to start and stay with. The narrators are awful. terrible. horrible. I could not speed up or slow down the narration to make it tolerable. I love this series and that is the only way I finished it. I had to hear Riley's story, but I will not listen to another book these people narrate again.

Team Shambles!

Oh, how I adored this book! I am a fan of this series, but don't be afraid to jump in here if you have just discovered Kate Canterbary.

Meeting Riley way back in Underneath it All and following him along throughout the book series, I thought I knew him, and maybe even how his story might play out. We have known him as the loveable younger brother, the not-quite professional architect, and sports enthusiast to name a few. But in Preservation, he has matured and grown in many ways, and we really get to know the real Riley: hot, dominant, sexy, funny, growly, and even a little wonky. I love that his Someone Special is a little of each of those qualities too. The build-up of the romantic relationship between the two is a slow-burn in all the best ways. Once they turned up the heat, and we really got to see the chemistry between the two, I was completely sold. Riley was the perfect man for this woman. I loved that he complimented her quirks, knew her needs, and fought hard for her. Riley is definitely a special one, just like ALL of the characters in the series.

As with ALL the Walsh series, Christian Fox & Lucy Rivers do an OUTSTANDING job in narrating the book. They both excel in giving each character their own voice, that stands out apart from the others. Highly recommend!

Finally RISD!

I absolutely adore this series and there was a lot of expectation for RISD's story and Kate Canterbary did not disappointed

Riley Walsh got the story he deserved and the Special Someone he deserved. This audio had everything I have come to expect as a given with Kate's writing: awesome dialogue, lots of laugh, great banter, some angst and plenty of super sexy times.

The amazing duo of Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox were outstanding. I love how they find new "voices" for each new character they narrate

This is one of the best audiobook series EVER!

I love this series. I've read and listened to each book and they just keep getting better. Mr. Fox really does up his game in this narration as does Ms. Rivers!!!

Every feel imaginable

Kate Canterbary will make your eyes bug out with disbelief, then wrap you up in the warmest hug. After that she'll break your heart into a million pieces. She'll also put it back together, even better than before.
Read the whole Walsh series, to get all the feels, in the right order.
Lucy Rivers & Christian Fox... just the best.

Simply the best

It's no secret I love the Walsh series of books by Kate Canterbary but adding the audio version takes it to another level. I felt all of the love and struggle Riley and Alex endured throughout this story.
As ever Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox make for a dream team of narrators. They are always excellent.
Fantastic all around.

Riley is my favorite

Riley is my favourite right alongside his sister Shannon.
I was desperate for his story and I wasn't disappointed, I loved every moment and can`t to see what`s next for this family.
Excellent narrative once again by Christian Fox & Lucy Rivers
