Publisher's summary

Agents Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich are up against an unstable villain with a very long memory in this FBI Thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter.

The explosive action kicks off as treasure-hunting FBI agent Ruth Warnecki is on the trail of stolen Confederate gold hidden in Winkel’s cave in western Virginia. She never expects to find herself chin-deep in a grisly murder that leaves her nearly dead and rocks the town of Maestro.

Then, at a stake-out in Maryland, FBI agents Dillon Savich and Dane Carver are nearly killed in a horrific explosion while attempting to rescue kidnap victim, Pinky Womack. They are led to Arlington National Cemetery where they not only find Pinky, but Savich also takes a fateful call on his cell from an old man out to kill both him and Sherlock. The thing is they have no clue why.

Pitted against an insane killer and his psychotic teenage girlfriend, Savich and Sherlock find themselves fighting a hate-driven villain with a grudge worth killing for...

Very Talented Narrator!

Because the FBI thriller books usually involve strong male and female characters, I generally prefer a male and female narrator. But this guy did an amazing job. Tone, inflection, changes in voice and mannerisms, he was superb. The store was excellent as well and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Not her best.

Way too much commentary. Lost momentum. Not my favorite narrator. Usually love her stories, but won't read this one again.

Least Favorite Narrator

Dick Hill makes every character sound like an old man. I do like the story, enough to put up with the narrator.

Point Blank Review

Coulter's action scenes are always exceptional but this book doesn't flow quite as well as the earlier ones in this series. Her new characters were enjoyable and well developed and the narration was excellent.

Interesting

Like Coulter. After reading 10 so far not as new. Did leave on mystery unexplained.

Great intersecting stories!

I greatly enjoy Coulter’s FBI novels. The only drawback is the narrator’s’and their interpretations in each. the narrator’s are not the same from one story to the next. With the male narrator in this story, Sherlock and most other female characters sounded like old men. NOT APPEALING! Dixon, as a main character, sounded like a “country bumpkin” (best way I could think to explain.). Since he was from New York, the interpretation of his character was way off.

Fantastic story!

It took a little while to get used to the narrator, he seemed difficult to listen to at first. Then the story took off and took me on a great journey. I'll definitely be looking for more Catherine Coulter stories in the future.
