Love Love and Love

Kick ass rock star and lead singer for Love Sick Ponies Julia(Jules) Delaney may seem like your typical gorgeous female rock and roller. Living the lifestyle of rocker, she parties hard, and has her fair share of nightly men. On the outside she appears to be confident in who she is. But memories of her past come flooding back, threatening everything she has worked for. Memories triggered by a beautiful mysterious man in the crowd at one of her shows…Brennan Curtis. Swoon! Brennan embodies everything Julia fears. He comes into her life fast and like a bull. Tearing down her emotional walls. Leaving her vulnerable and exposed. She begins to rethink her life. After discovering hidden truths about Brennan, herself, and her past, she is pushed to make the hard decision of figuring herself out. On her path to self-discovery, she finds out more than she expected to and Alisa Mullen takes you on the roller coaster ride with Jules Delaney. I cried, I laughed, I got angry and threw things, I blamed the world. But I fell in love with this book and I am waiting not so patiently for book 2. Thank you Alisa

All screwed up !

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. It was a very good book that touches on mental illness and addictions

What other book might you compare Plastic Confidence to and why?

I have not really read anything similar

Have you listened to any of Lucy Lowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Cry more than anything I felt my heart fall for the main character a lot during the book

Any additional comments?

This book is dark and deep it deals with mental health and demons of the heart.
But also is a very wonderful book to listen to.

WOW! LOVED IT!!

What did you like about this audiobook?

Loved the voice. loved the real life drama.this was a completely new genre for me and it rocked.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I had the book on my TBR. I haven't had a lot of time to sit and read read as of late so I've been using audible. I have no complaints about this story. the story was great! Love drama confusion real life stuff. with a good choice of a HEA.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

She makes you think about the meaning of love. Soul mates. they do exist. no matter if you find yours or not there is one out there for everyone.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

I really liked her. but and i hate to say it but i only had a problem with her female vs male change over. they weren't much different from each other. not like I'm used to. but oooh how i loved and i mean LOVED how she got in to character!

Couldn't stand the narrator, but good story

The narrator drove me crazy. Her American accent was ok much of the time, but the mispronounced words (e.g. Like British or Australian English, words that end in vowels like Julia pronounced with an "r" at the end: Julier) were so frequent that it detracted from the story. Good story though for sure, but I honestly almost gave up and went for Kindle version instead.

Very entertaining

Held my attention & believable characters. A lot of promiscuous sex for New Adult reading. Had an HEA & kept me guessing until the end as to who the heroine would end up with - well done!

Really enjoyed the narrator

If you could sum up Plastic Confidence in three words, what would they be?

Suspenseful, Thrilling, Surprising

What did you like best about this story?

The twists and turns in the story.

What does Lucy Lowe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She had a quirky way of saying things that I found endearing. Really enjoyed her narration.

Any additional comments?

Alissa Mullen is a brilliant writer. There were so many details that she thought of in this story. It was so suspenseful. The blurb doesn't do the story justice as there are so many components that will blow your mind. The story follows through the life of Jules Delaney from when she was a young girl. This story really reminds you how things that happen to you when you are younger can really dictate how you turn out when you are older.

Great storyline!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!! For storyline
2 Crazy Ass Stars! For audiobook

I started out listening to this audiobook yesterday. It was a great storyline. I didn't care for the narrator at all though. She made it very hard to follow the story. I couldn't get lost in it as I kept hearing her natural accent come out and skew words. I feel a narrator should be more articulate and enunciate words correctly. I get that narrators take on accents of characters but I could not really differentiate between characters at times. It got to be annoying so I switched to the kindle version. Had I just read the book, this would have been a 5 star Crazy Ass Must Read but I just can't get over how annoyed I was with audiobook.

This book had everything with feels and angst and drama. Oh, and hot sexy times. I loved Brannon. He's definitely BBF material.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the trilogy.

An awesome story about self discovery!

I absolutely loved this story. The journey to self discovery and love are not always the easiest and this is proven here. Growing up in a town where murder and rape are not heard of three young friends deal with the aftermath of the tragedy. Playing a game that would tell them their future one day while hanging out, it will change everything for Julia. Now she is a famous Rock star who enjoys the lifestyle! But she blocks out the past. Upon meeting the ever so hot Brennan she starts to feel things she hasn't in awhile, but he has a secret that will make it all come crashing down. After a series of unfortunate circumstances, Julia is now on her own learning who she is after making chances in her life. One Brennan show up unexpectedly and things will never be the same. I hope I haven't given away too much. All in all I loved this book. The narrator bought the characters to life. I can't wait to start the next one to see what life hands Julia and Brennan.
