Publisher's Summary

My name is Lucian Quinn, and I own one of the most successful software companies in the world. I'm 29, rich, and single. Impressive, right? I'm also a favorite target for every hungry socialite looking to land the uncatchable catch. What these women don't know, though, is that I'm completely screwed up and damaged beyond repair. The only part of me I'll ever willingly give them is the hour it takes to make them scream...several times. Then I saw her....

I'm Lia Adams, and I'm in my last year at St. Claire's University in North Carolina. I grew up with an abusive mother and a twisted stepfather who was worse...so much worse. I'll do anything necessary to survive, even work as an escort to help pay for my college expenses. The men I accompany to various events are mostly harmless and just want an attractive woman on their arms for an evening. It has never gone further than that...until him....

Contains mature themes.

Warning cliffhanger

It has a cliffhanger, wouldn't have gotten it if I had known that, or I would have waited on part 2.

TWO LOST SOULS DRAWN TOGETHER...... LOVED IT

I knew I shouldn't have done it but I did.... I listen to this before I had books 2 and 3 safely in my library and arghhh what a huge mistake that was because now I have to wait and wait and beg Audible to get the next instalment in Lucian and Lia's very addictive bitter-sweet love story.

A story that has the rich, bossy and sexy Lucian, who looked like a God, manipulating things and changing his ways for the sweet, intelligent and beautiful Lia a Student/Escort who has captured his attention with her straight talking, sad history, caring personality, independence and she understands him so well. He has secrets, secrets that gives him terrible nightmares and they make the emotional shutters go down and he turns cold when Lia mentions the scar that runs around his neck. There's also a bitchy ex waiting in the wings who's biding her time til she can cause some trouble.

Two people haunted by the past - one is eaten up by regrets and hate and one is willing to move on but the past catches up with them which leaves an OMG jaw dropping cliffhanger. Sydney Landon has brilliant writing skills but it's taken me all day to forgive her for leaving the story right there. I have a love/hate relationship with trilogies because I have to wait so long for the eventual HEA but there's good news and bad news..... thankfully Book 2 has been released already but I have to wait until May/June time for Book 3.

Worth a credit? These two characters sucked me right into their lives, their heartbreaking back stories, the dilemmas that they're each now faced with, their ever building need to be close to each other and their desire for each other. Intense storyline, great characters, great narration, dual POV's, with heartache, humor, slowly unfolding secrets, drug use, deeply hidden secrets, sizzling chemistry, angst and drama, there's lots of Alpha dirty talking and plenty of sex which makes this a must have trilogy and YES, Part 1 was definitely worth the credit.

Mother cliffhanger!

The storyline was great. It was a spin on the very common broken girl and rich hero. But this rich hero might be just as broken if not more broken than the girl. So is he really a hero?

The twists and turns make this book very intense and mysterious. The "insta-love" was actually believable and super sexy.

Not super happy with the narrator choice but I still gave 3 stars because they weren't so bad that I stopped listening. The male narrator has no intensity or urgency in his voice, no matter how intense and urgent the situation is.

Good story but too short. I feel a little cheated

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Instead of trying to make stories end like 50 shades and drawing it out to the next book just to make me buy more books publish the stories together to make it an enjoyable read

What about Lucy Malone and Sean Crisden ’s performance did you like?

Loved both readers performances. Good intonation and voice.

Cliffhanger!

I enjoyed this audiobook about a young college student who meets a rich businessman while working for a dating service. He is instantly enamoured with her, and she finds him overwhelmingly attractive. They begin a relationship that is complicated by his past and her past family relationships. I didn't realize this was a trilogy until the ending in s cliffhanger. I also didn't like the fact that the hero used cocaine so casually. That's the reason I gave the story a lower than 5.

4 stars but

I liked this book, but I felt like it was weighed down by some big issues.

spoiler alert

I don't think child abuse is romantic. I thought the writer was too descriptive with talking about the sexual things that Lea's stepfather did to her. I also don't find rape romantic, or drug abuse. I just think all of it was a bit much, but I do think it was a good story.

Great disappointment !!!

I loved the story at first and can't believe you let the book end like that it is a great disappointment I hate books like that!!! I won't read any more of the books if they end like that. I'm sorry I wasted my time!!!

Cliff hangers

I must admit I not a big fan of cliff hangers I try to wait to get books until the whole series is released. I can't be the only one out there with no patients (although maybe I should work on that) so thought I would give a warning.

It is a good story and I think it is worth the read or should I say listen.

Seriously???

Good book except for the RIDICULOUS cliff hanger. I wish authors would just get over themselves. If your book is well written , readers will read the next one without the stupid drama. This would get a better review from me if not for that!

Good storyline but Caution: Cliffhanger

I really dislike a book that does not warn you in the description that it contains a cliffhanger. I liked the plot and the narrators but I resent the author requiring you to read another book to find out the ending of the first one.
