I didn't enjoy the male narrator at all. I appreciate that the author didn't get too graphic with Pim's abuse. This book was definitely dark even without that.

In Love

I love this series, I have actually read the books, and just couldn't help myself from purchasing the audio books as well. Elder and Pim have a very different relationship as others have had in a couple of other series from Pepper Winters. The thoughts and communication between the pair makes the book stand out from many others and yet pulls you in further as their one sided verbal communication continues. I can not wait to continue listening and the narrators capture the true feel of this series.

P.S. this is one of the easiest ways to refresh your memory before the next book comes out!

wonderful story

i loved this story, i had the pleasure or reading the first books, i got the listen to last book, and i had to listen to all. the narration is the best i have ever listened to. congrats!!!

Pennies

Pennies is the first book in the Dollars series. I absolutely loved this book. This story is told in multiple POVs, but is centered on the experiences of Tasmin, aka Pimlico. At the age of 18, she was kidnapped and sold as a sex slave. She had to refer to her captor as Master A. However when she was sold she went into a vow of silence, and refused to talk. She was kept naked and made to do whatever and whomever her master made her do. Pimlico lives in constant terror for two years.

Then comes in Elder. He can see through the lies that her Master says she does and learns to read her by the way she acts. Can Elder save her before it is to late? Can Pimlico get away from her Master? This book sucked me in and I couldn't wait to get started on the next book in the series!

The narrators in this book were great, and really brought the story to life!

From the Eyes of the Defeated

This book has some nasty reviews for its storyline I loved the storyline for its raw brutality & possession. It is an honest view into the evil minds of sex trafficking. Where the mind would have to go to survive is narrated in its truest form.
I enjoyed the mental tug of war. The author keeps you on the edge. It is a dark romance and if you need light and fluffy, this is not for you. If you need broken, tattered, and rescued with retribution through persecution this is for you.

This was an awsome book!

Intrigue, mystery, suffering, unbearable pain and angst. I felt things that made me feel uncomfortable with mix feelings. Well written and the voice reading was exicuted well. I do intend to read the whole series. As long as it can hold my attention as this book did. Wow... Good stuff.

brutal but seriously so good

this is the 4th time I've listened this book seems wordy and slow at times but omg the story is so good.

Dark Book but great

Very dark subject matter but the author does a great job of creating engrossing characters and you want to see where there story goes. Great start. And the narrators were absolutely AMAZING! Highly recommend, but know that it is very dark book and subject not for the light hearted.

Heart-breaking

Thought-provoking. Heart-breaking. Profound. Gut-wrenching. Those were my initial thoughts. I know they don't all sound great, but this book is the perfect dark and gritty romance.

I've never read anything this dark and been this moved. Pepper Winters is a masterful writer. Although my heart pounded and broke for Pim, I loved everything about this book. In the face of pure horror, our heroine, remains strong. That was key for me. Add great writing to a great heroine with a stunning storyline and that leads to 5 Stars!!
