Publisher's summary

Our Christian Wagon Train of Freedom: Christ has Set Us Free on the Oregon Trail, is the story of Maria, who travels along the Oregon Trail with her sister to meet Levi, her future husband and a rancher in California. Managing to survive the tests that a wagon train can give to a young woman unused to manual labor, she arrives at Levi's ranch with a surprise. A few family slaves accompany her and Levi tells her clearly that they won't be slaves on his ranch. She then becomes unsure whether he can ever love her, and she him, and almost more uncertain about the many chores she has to learn so she can help Levi manage his little piece of California.

Good lesson

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It was a sweet story which had a good message. Levi was a strong Christian man and Maria was taught Christian values by him. I did get a chuckle out of how when the woman narrating the book, would make her, voice would deepen when she would read his part.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Our Christian Wagon Train of Freedom?

When Maria realized just how much Levi loved her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was very heart warming.

Sweet Historical Romance

Overall a good short story and great narration.

My concerns were based on this being considered a Christian story.
First, in the pastor's prayer with the Aunt, he basically said he wanted God to bless the union of this young couple, but didn't ask God if this couple should be united. Seeking God's will instead of treating God like a vending machine would usually be the type of pastor included in a Christian book, unless there is some indication that the pastor needed God to work on him.
Second, was Marie's two sides of her faith. She seemed repulsed about bringing the Bible, but then insists on teaching her sister to read better by reading from it. The impression she gives is that she didn't attend church because of her faith, but because of her interest in finding a spouse. Why would the pastor choose a young woman for such a godly man, if she doesn't have a personal relationship of her own?
