Publisher's summary

Oriel: I am an angeling of the light, born to love and protect. Humans have breached the barrier between the mortal and immortal realms, threatening war between them, yet I'm sent to guard one of the scientists helping to push their technology forward.

An angeling's place is not to question the angels, but I fear this might bring the end of times. Not to mention that other guardians have already fallen from the sin of lust, and my charge is as beautiful as any in angelkind. But it's her soul that draws me inexorably close, for she's broken, and it's the kind of wound I was born to fix.

Elizabeth: I've dropped everything due to secret science on an amazing project. I was only 16 when cancer stole my father. A few months later, my mom was taken by a car crash. I vowed to fulfill their dreams for me, to do great science like my father, and I've spent the last 10 years of my life doing just that.

Then Dr. Netherman invited me to join her secret project, and her transdimensional work is legitimately blowing my mind. Just like the hot personal bodyguard she has assigned. Now is not the time to break my "No Dating" rule, but holy hotness, does this guy have to be sweet and kind as well? I have to stay focused on my work; after all, we're going to change the world.

In a war that threatens mortals and immortals alike, the Angels of Light vow to protect humanity. But they will be tempted by the sweet promise of love.

Fallen Angels is a follow-on series from the best-selling Fallen Immortals series. It contains sexy, hot angels of light and shadow.

Oriel and Liza

ORIEL
I am an angeling of the light, born to love and protect…
Humans have breached the barrier between the mortal and immortal realms, threatening war between them, yet I’m sent to Guard one of the scientists helping to push their technology forward. An angeling’s place is not to question the angels, but I fear this might bring the End of Times. Not to mention that other Guardians have already fallen from the sin of Lust, and my charge is as beautiful as any in angelkind. But it’s her soul that draws me inexorably closer… for she’s broken, and it’s the kind of wound I was born to fix.

Well against those odds what chance does and strong, sexy but innocent angeling stand? This is the second book in this series and after reading and listening to Tajael the first book I was excited to listen to this one too. I do admit that I had read the book when it was first released but I find listening to books is like watching a good film for the second time, I pick up things I missed the first time around!

This story is very dramatic, Liza comes to help Charlotte (Dr. Netherman) on her quest to move her project forward. She is brilliant but also an innocent. She lost her parents when she was only 16 and has devoted her life to becoming a great scientist, just like her father. She has spent the last ten years trying to achieve this and in order to do this she has shut herself off, she has no real friends and has never dated. Then she joins Charlotte's project and comes face to face with Oriel, who has been assigned as her personal guardian. He is the first male she has felt anything for since her father died but she doesn't think of him as a father!

The chemistry and attraction between Liza and Oriel are palpable, both are innocent in the ways of physical love, in fact, Oriel believes that if he gives in to his desire he will "fall" that is he will join the shadow realm, which is something all angels of the light fear.

The story is fast-moving and exciting and moves along at a very good pace. The writing is excellent and the storyline develops very well, introducing some very interesting characters. The work in the lab continues as Oriel and Liza's attraction/love deepens but will they ever be able to be together?

I'd love to tell you more but that would involve spoilers which I try not to give. What I will say is that this book is a very good second book and in some ways surpasses the first, making me want to now listen to book three.

The narration is excellent and, for me at least, added greatly to my enjoyment of this book.

I was given this book as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

This one was good, too...

...though I did hate the part where Oriel was changed. I also loved Lizza, who is even MORE of a badass female scientist than Charlotte, whose protege she is.Once again, the double narration was a delight.
