Publisher's summary

The grave is one wrong step away.

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’ voodoo queen just keeps on giving - leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity - forever. But how do you kill a killer who’s already long dead?

Jeaniene Frost, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, lives with her husband and their very spoiled dog in Florida. Although not a vampire herself, she confesses to having pale skin, wearing a lot of black, and sleeping in late whenever possible. Aside from writing, she enjoys reading, poetry, exploring old cemeteries, spelunking, and traveling - by car. Airplanes, children, and cookbooks frighten her.

Tavia Gilbert has ruined me!

Jeaniene Frost delivers once again. I love how Frost has continued to develop the relationship between Cat and Bones. It's nice to see a character grow and change, but it's even better when that character is self aware enough to realize the change.

I do have one problem with all of the stories in the Night Huntress World and that is Tavia Gilbert. Her reading is so well done that she sets a high bar for other narrators. Each and every character has a unique voice, even as the universe expands. The only other narration that comes close is that of the Lords of the Underworld series. I'd give her performance 6 stars if I could.

Amazing Series, Amazing Narrator!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't get enough of of this series! I've listened to the entire series about 4 times now and continue to go back for more. It has everything...action, romance and comedy! The narrator is fantastic! Wish she narrated everything I listened to!

Awesome!!

I just loved this book and the whole series. The world they live in is similar enough to our own that it makes you feel like this could actually be happening somewhere. The characters have depth. The relationship between Cat and Bones has grown and I just love seeing them like this. I"ve read the whole series multiple times and I think this book is the perfect next step in the series. And my favorite scene....lets just say that Superman and Lois Lane can eat their hearts out!! My only complaint in the whole thing was at the end of the book I didn't want to stop reading. Jeaniene Frost...Please hurry with your next book from this series. I just luv Cat and Bones (and wish I had a Bones of my own!).

It NEVER gets old

I love love love this series. Jeaniene Frost is an amazingly talented writer. Her imagery jumps off the page. Tavia Gilbert is one of the best narrators around. She brings the book and the characters to life. Every character is distinct and she puts her all into the performance. Now I have read/listened to all of her Night Huntress books and the story never turns bland or boring. Some authors at least one dull book in the series. I have to say she does not. Every book delivers great story, lots of laughs, awesome fight scenes and hot romance. Each book grabs you from the very start and take you for a wild ride. This is a fun series to start and follow.

Excellent installment!

Frost never disappoints and this installment is no different as Cat and Bones set out on a ghost hunt. Frost always introduces fun and fascinating new characters and has a contagious sense of humor. Thanks for writing yet another wonderful book. Tavia Gilbert is perfect as always.

A decent entry in the series

The fight scenes might just go on a bit too long - yeah, yeah, we get it already, you can't hit a ghost with your fists.

And the potential solution that could have been found in meeting with the Queen of the Ghouls was "discarded" so off-handedly that it seemed it was only discarded as an option by the author because that would have removed the suspense.

And their methods of dealing with the obstacles didn't really make logical sense: Madigan wants in your cave, which is privately owned, and you're doing private, non-illegal business there? Tell him to stay out. Don is following you and won't tell you anything? Explain to him that you're going to be killed if he keeps following you - if he continues to ignore your wishes, you know what side he's on, don't you. (This whole thread seems to have been brought up, then just dropped - maybe it's intended for the next book in the series?)

That being said... it was a fast story that was resolved in the end, well, at least the main plot was resolved, not sure what's going to happen with the new head of the special ops... or with Don...

There wasn't any porn in it... I think there might have been some flowery sexual activity, but nothing graphic or detailed. Some swearing, but it fit the story. The narration is good and, all in all, it's a decent entry in the Night Huntress series.
