Publisher's Summary

In One Dance with a Duke, the first novel in Tessa Dare's delightful new trilogy, secrets and scandals tempt the irresistible rogues of the Stud Club to gamble everything for love.

A handsome and reclusive horse breeder, Spencer Dumarque, the fourth Duke of Morland, is a member of the exclusive Stud Club, an organization so select it has only 10 members - yet membership is attainable to anyone with luck. And Spencer has plenty of it, along with an obsession with a prize horse, a dark secret, and, now, a reputation as the dashing "Duke of Midnight". Each evening he selects one lady for a breathtaking midnight waltz. But none of the women catch his interest, and nobody ever bests the duke - until Lady Amelia d'Orsay tries her luck.

In a moment of desperation, the unconventional beauty claims the duke's dance and unwittingly steals his heart. When Amelia demands that Spencer forgive her scapegrace brother's debts, she never imagines that her game of wits and words will lead to breathless passion and a steamy proposal. Still, Spencer is a man of mystery, perhaps connected to the shocking murder of the Stud Club's founder. Will Amelia lose her heart in this reckless wager - or win everlasting love?

I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!

    "Great romance"

I did enjoy the telling of "One Dance With a Duke." For those of us who enjoy the occasional romance, this was a lovely story and telling. I will admit that even I was slightly annoyed by the main characters constant "misunderstanding" of her love interested, but overall enjoyed the story and would recommend it to other readers who enjoy a light-hearted romance. I think I will continue with the series.

I bought this from the sale page and didn't listen to it for a few weeks...sorry I didn't!!! This book was surprisingly good with strong female characters and a few twists from the normal. Worth the listen!!

    "Heartwarming, Witty, and Sexy"

Amelia is a clever girl. Tessa dare writes really witty dialogue for her and the narrator delivers it wonderfully. The narrator struggles with the male voices some, but not so much that it distracts from the book. The male voices just aren't very different from the female voices, but it is MUCH better than a BAD male voice.

This is a heartwarming and deliciously sexy book. I can't wait for the second of the trilogy...WHICH IS AVAILABLE from Audible, (Twice Tempted by a Rogue: The Stud Club Trilogy, Book 2) you just have to look for it!! Audible doesn't have the 3 books listed together and it says it is NOT available - but I looked for more Tessa Dare books - and THERE THEY ARE!

    Worth a credit!

"A chance meeting with a Duke"

I thought Leslie Bellair did an excellent job with narration in another one of Tessa Dare's great love stories.A well rounded book, with intrigue, mystery, steamy moments, murder and hard decisions.Spencer unwillingly becomes a duke, trying to preserve a spot for his ward in London society he forces himself amongst those in society who will pave the way for his ward in finding a suitable husband. What ends up happening is he finds himself accosted by an overprotective sister needing to get her brother out of a debt owed to him.Murder starts off this story,a mystery to solve, romance budding between the duke and Amelia,a marriage arrangement, accusations and a huge secret, keep the couple in constant drama, choosing between loyalty to family or loyalty and trust between eachother they weave their way through this tale finding true understanding and love, tough love.

"Disliked the heroine after a while."

I came to dislike the heroine after a while, I liked some of the changes in the hero but I felt the heroine constantly but her good for nothing brother and family before her husband. It made her seem tedious and not worth his deep love.

"Couldn't find anything to love about this heroin."

I don't think I have ever disliked a heroin so much as I did this one. I couldn't find anything to love or like because she was just plain stupid! Throughout the whole book I found her to be annoying, childish, blind, stubborn, and just plain prejudice. She was so determined to see her brother as doing NO WRONG that she over looked the love and consideration of a handsome, strong man who loves her for being her. She placed more trust in her never do well brother than she did even in herself. I know there are some people who take on the burden's of family with out a care for themselves, but how far do you go? When do you say enough is enough? This lady had to go all the way to the end of her rope and darn near hang herself in the process before she finally figured it out. I just truly didn't like anything about her character at all! For me there is nothing to redeem her and I couldn't feel how this lead to a HEA. The book was just not very well thought out and just stopped without lifting my spirit up to feel like I would want to know how their lives turn out together. So disappointing!
